For your interest - the western tower dates from 1315, but the doorway is earlier (first mentioned in the early 12th century).
The church was partially rebuilt in 1755 and then renovated again in the late 1880’s.
It is built of local Horton stone.

No great claims for artistic value of this image.
I have just acquired the lens from a fellow forum member in the UK, and I am posting this to express my delight at the quality of this lens.
This is the first time I have used any 'older' glass, and it won't be the last!

I couldn't agree more - for the last 5/6 years my wife and I have driven from the UK to Spain and visited many of these lesser well known Spanish towns and villages, there are so many that are both picturesque and atmospheric, some examples would be Trujillo and Caceres, but there are too many to mention!

You are quite right about the maintenance work - I also took some shots of the men working in the dry lock.

This is a small part of a flight of locks - 21 in total.
I like the way the line of the locks leads the eye to the tower of the Collegiate Church of St. Mary - it dominates the skyline of Warwick.

For those golfers among us - uphill par 3 (tee is bottom left), 140 yards, green frozen solid - how do you do it !!
However, it turned into a beautiful November morning.

Thank you all for your help - it's given me plenty to think about.
We're not big city people, much prefer the countryside and historic attractions.

Could I ask for some help from US Pentaxians.
From September 21st my wife and I are visiting my son and his family who now live in Southlake, near Dallas / Fort Worth.
We intend to do a couple of 4 night Mon/Fri road trips. I am organising one to the Northern New Mexico / Southern Colorado area, but would also like to visit Southern Texas. last year we spent a couple of nights in Fredericksburg and visited San Antonio and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
I would be very grateful if I could have some suggestions - should it be Austin or Houston etc.etc. Obviously photographic opportunities are important!
Thank you.

Could you help, please?
In the second shot, for example, what approx. exposure and aperture was used?

Hello everyone, and a happy new year!
Just joined the Pentax club on December 30th..
After exhaustive research I bought a K5 (great deals on them at the moment), but it seems unfortunate that I also went for the 18-55mm WR kit lens.
The first results are very disappointing (CA), so I am busy looking for alternatives.
There are some really attractively priced SMC DA 16-45mm f/4 zooms on eBay (it appears to be a well reviewed lens), and I think the Sigma 17-70mm looks as if it is interesting (however, very mixed reviews).
Would welcome some comments.
