hi everyone-- i hope i posted in the right place-- sorry, i am a newbie :> anyway, here is my question:

i would like a 50mm or 55mm f1.2 lens for my k-5. price is a factor for me--- i can't spend a lot of money right now.... i see on ebay there are older nikon f1.2 lenses that are pre AI--- and that they will "force fit" onto the pentax dSLR's. okay, soooooo what does that mean exactly? are shreds of metal going to come off trying to get this lens to mount? seriously, it's a bit concerning!

the lens come off once it's mounted? and will i need an adapter for pre AI nikon lenses?

i was hoping someone here could explain this a bit better before i make a purchase.

thank you in advance!!!!!! ;>

hi everyone--- i just got my new pentax k-5 the other day... WOW it is amazing! i started out in the early 80's with a film SLR. some years after digital cameras arrived i got the nikon d80 and have used it up until recently. i WAS going to upgrade to a nikon d7000, but after doing extensive research, decided on the pentax k-5.

i am the photographer for a well-known blues band here in cincinnati, and i also am an artist. i'm not a pro with tons of gear, but rather, a quiet kind of gal who does the best with what gear i have. ;> i am always interested in how i can improve my photographs.....learning from the masters is important, but also it's important to just simply get out there and click away...!

i'm glad to be part of this forum-- cheers ;>
