Well, I am glad they sealed the K200 as I just purchased the body along with the DA* zooms. Should be a nice all weather kit.

Thank for the reply. I got a hands on with the K20d today. I enjoyed the ergonomics much better than the D300 I had. It is such a nice camera. I would love to get my hands on a K200 to check out. I am leaning toward the K200 and DA* zooms right now.

Thanks for the link to that roadmap. It looks like a 55 1.4 and a 30mm prime are coming and longer teles. If those lenses come true in addition to the existing DA*s that would be all I need. I just need to decide between a K20 and K200. I will download the manuals tonight and compare.

Any K200d owners using the two DA* zooms and if so how is it working out? My gear spends time on a mountain bike and around salt water/boats. I had a D300 for a couple of months but too bulky and complicated. The size of the K200 looks great. A sealed 17-70/4 and 50/1.4 for low light would be perfect.

Why would Pentax go to the trouble of weather sealing the K200d when all but four of their lenses are weather sealed and are geared toward K20d users?

Hi All:
I have 3k to spend on a new kit. I do general all around shooting, two young kids, sports etc. We spend a lot of time around the ocean sailing so weather sealing is nice. I also Mountain Bike and like to bring photo gear along.
I am weighing the following options all with K20D:
1. 16-50 2.8 and 50-135 2.8
2. 21mm - general all around shooting
70mm - portrait, short range sports
DA*200mm - sports
3. Budget: Pentax 18-250 plus FA 50 1.4 for low light.
I do not know which way to go. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jerry

I am selling my K100D. It is in absolutely mint condition. No scratches or marks. I purchased it new just over a year ago and has less than 3000 shutter releases. It would not surprise me to have less than 2000. I have the original box, cables, software, etc. $300 including shipping to the continental US.

Tom:
I have a K100 and the 21. I love the combo. It is my most used lens. These small primes are what drew me to the Pentax line. I have a kit of the 21, 43 and 70. The image quality is outstanding. If you don't care for the zooms I think you will really enjoy this lens. After you use this combo for a few minutes you will forget about the price.

Hi All:
I have had my K100 for a year now. I love the size and IQ from the K100 and a few primes I have accumulated over the past year.
