I'll be able to be on stage or in front of the stage so pretty close but i have to be closer than 6 foot away from the subject im shooting for it to be in focus. so that means i cant really get good full body shots with the 55. the 35mm you can only be about 3 foot from the subject to get them in focus.

i bet the gear for that can get pretty expencive then. i am definatly enjoying colecting and and "atmpting" to repair cameras as a hobby although i am not good at it at all but its still fun.
I work at cummins inc. at its home location in columbus. i am a student draftsman/engineer. i want to relate this kind of job else where in the future since i have already studied it and have taken classes for about 3 and a half years now. any tips on working with the big guys at pentax or any ideas of how to get into that kind of carrer with a camera company?

its mainly for basketball as well as out door shots of my dogs runing and jumping and that such. i currently have my pentax k-x 18n 70-210-55 kit lens, tamron sp 90 mm adaptall 2, a tamron 70-210 zoom lens. my technique could be a huge problem considering this is my first complete year in photography and im still in high school.

The sports are mainly indoor. Most are elementary games in low light gyms.
And the games I have got good shots at are contaminated with noise! Im really tired of noise

Hey guys i am looking to buy a new lens for my pentax k-x. I have a budget for around $500. I am wanting a new lens to cover the folowing senerios: Low lighting, sports, macro and portraits. i know one lens wont cover it all so if i had to pic i would pic that the most valuable to me would be sports, but please help out for each of the senerios as well if possible. i just need an idea of a good lens that i will be pleased with considering this is the largest sum i have ever spent on one lens. i have only bought older mf lenses from flea markets and pawn shops for around 20 bucks a lens. but im ready to get something newer and something with autofocus. so if you have any ideas please help me out. if you recomend a lens feel free to post some sample photos if you have the lens.
Thanks,
Carlyn
