That might be true, no one knows when the next new camera will come out. And also it's better to have some hand in experience to make the comments.
Probably this back image reminds me the back of X70, which decreases the impression of "pro". But anyway this is just a temporary feeling.

The size is too small and the big back-dial is removed. Perhaps I have to wait a little bit for the K30D, which may keep the same style as K20D.

For me I still prefer a larger body, unless they swear there is no compromise between preformance and the "Olympus" size.
Anyway, let's wait for the day: May 21th

How about the body material? Does it feel like traditional plastic body or with some metallic frame?

Three weeks ago the HSM of my Sigma 70-200/2.8 couldn't work for a while.
Later I tried full battery and focusing while turning the focus ring, it was able to work again. But when it goes to the furthest end there is some subtle noise.
Does anybody have the same problem before? Or it is just due to the low battery, in other words, HSM is very energy-consuming?

Di-II means APS-C frame only. K100D super is APS-C.
BTW, I am talking about the sensor size.

I only have 500mm/f8 telescope. I also enjoy shooting the moon!

After waiting for quite a long time, I just got A16 from B&H.
At first I was afraid of the focusing problem as some people complained about this. Luckily my version seems good.
This is a sample image, crop only, no extra treatment.

Actually with the current Pentax rebate you should be able to buy K20D+DA*50-135 with $200 rebate. Tamron 17-50/2.8 is also a good choice because I heard a lot of people complain about the DA*16-50. And you still need the FA50/1.4 for potrait. The other stuff is OK.
As this is a big and long range investment, I suggest K20D instead of K200D due to the different targets of these two. (K20D is quasi-professonal while K200D is for amateur), you may regret later of not upgrading the body to the best one.

Yeah, at this zoom range nobody wants to hold it in the hand unless he likes to do it as an exercise instead of going to gym.:) Of course it will be mounted on the tripod.
What I concern is whether it can provide acceptable image quality when I shoot some static things like moon or birds sitting on the branch. Hope the IQ is not the same as cropped photo taken by shorter lens.

Thank you for all your help!
At present I think I will take Pentax one, because it seems more interesting and lighter, while the distortion can be modified by softwares.

I'm interested in this long shot lens for several weeks, but I am still hesitate to buy it because there are so few reviews, and its IQ can not be guaranteed. Fortunately you used to own it and got some experience. I plan to use it mainly to shoot the moon, maybe some birds. Is its IQ comparable with a normal astronomical telescope of the similar price? Could you please give me some suggestions about this lens, or good alternatives with good accessibility and proper price.
Thanks!

Thanks for all your replies! I'm sorry I didn't check this thread these days.
Now I am aware of these two lens, Pentax fisheye has the circular distortion while Sigma is a super wide angle lens. But I still have some questions: Does the fisheye effect exist through all the zoom range (from 10 to 17mm)? If at the long end it can be used as a normal rectalinear lens, that's great! If Sigma works as a normal ultra wide zoom, probably I'll choose Pentax 12-24, it is said to be a very decent landscape and indoor lens.
Sorry, there are no local shops around my town, so I have to ask online.

Some people say the Sigma one has higher QC, while I saw some nice pictures taken by Pentax.
Could anyone here tell something about these two lens? Which one is better and worthy of choosing?

Anything, done wrong, will definately lead to photos worse than "snapshotish". The solution is not to throw it away, but practise it more.

I hope I can get others' opinions on how to make the choice between the two lens.
At least it's not easy for me. :o

I bought the lens hood of 35/2 in B&H for my FA 50/1.4, but so far it is still on back-ordered.
Can it work with my FA 50/1.4?
