That's very odd, but chances are the mic is picking up electric noise via the camera's internal components. Do you have an university or some kind of audio lab nearby that could measure frequencies accurately?

That's pretty funny actually. When the G1 was announced we talked amongst friends in school and I said it'll probably take about 10 years. Must have been some kind of wonderkid nostradamus.

So far, the thread seems to be "it's good, but I have better options available". So, since you don't have DSLR or anything, I'd say for that kind of money the K-01 is an ok value. Focus peaking will come in handy with your ricoh lens, just remove the pin first if needed. Of course, if you can get the camera with its 40mm XS lens, that's even better.

Good to know it arrived, but take as much time as you need. Looks like your life is a rollercoaster right now, try not let that kick your health too much. My condolences.

@Mechan1k, did the lens arrive yet?

Yes, the green button sets according to the selected program line. Note that the programs still have lattitude depending on the lighting conditions - for example, even if you have it set to maximum depth of field, if the light is low the camera will open up the aperture until the exposure time is 1/fl. It seems like the "sport" line will decrease exposure time to 1/ 2xfl first, then get the aperture to MTF, then continue shortening the exposure time.

If it's a K-30 or K-50 there's a high chance you're experiencing the aperture defect. Look through the lens if it's actually opening the aperture when you take a picture.

Sigma usually updates their firmware for use with newer cameras. At worst you'd have to send the lens in.

Only some very early DSLRs don't support HSM. The lens will work fine on your K-50.

It has definitely changed since I had it 1.5 years or so ago. Aperture ring was a bit sticky at times, the finish looked more worn and I guess the lens seemed more "used".

Life happened so I couldn't send the lens until today, but it is safely on its way now.
Complete with terrible handwriting and wrapping skills!

This is also my second time with the lens and I've basically been sitting on it until someone stepped up. Lens will be sent to Mechan1k as soon as I can get a good box and some bubblewrap.

I have a 190Xpro3 and it should tick all your boxes. Might be a bit over 250 but it's definitely sturdy and proven :D
Edit: it's 177$ on BH for the tripod and 229$ for the kit I have (with the 496RC2 ball head). It's a stable ball head but always seems to droop a bit when I tighten it so you may want to get the tripod and head separately.

Yeah, except mine, apparently. The issue pops up in every model sooner or later, except in the case of K-30 / K-50 it was a factory defect, with other cameras it's just another part that sometimes fails.

I get that in live view when I zoom a lens. All the time every time on my K-5II.

If you're close up, then you would need to switch lenses. If you're too far away, the prime is usually as long or longer than the zoom's maximum fl anyway.

I wouldn't go with anything that doesn't do video. Pros:
a) video
b) isn't ancient
c) will be more responsive
If the course is at all aimed at younger people, smartphones and video might be taken into account. Also, your nephew might, you know, want his camera to do video :D

Check if you haven't bumped the JPEG processing setting off the default one. On DSLRs that's accessed with the right key on the direction pad, might be the same on the Q.

Nothing stopping you from getting a camera, using it with default settings and learning as you go. P and M work exactly the same way as on your P3 :)
I'd suggest going for the K-S2 if possible, the tilty screen is extremely useful.

I have the lens right here, and use it every now and then. It definitely looks like it traveled a lot.
I planned on babysitting it until someone wanted it, but it's been a while, I'll just drop a PM to Drivingback.
