Thanks. I will do tests when I get my exchange copy from B&H. What puzzled me was the uneven focusing results. I did some tests with a needlework object, and the 43 performed worst of all my Pentax lenses. Yet some of the Xmas photos of the grandchildren were stunning -- and some blurry. So I'll remain puzzled until I get the replacement in a few days. It's wonderful to have this community, and I'm sure I'll like it better than Facebook, which I'm really too old to like or participate in.

Wow a reply already. I'll insert a pic if I can. OK Here's a link with one pic done with my K5 and the 43mm WITH HOOD. The other with my old Olympus zoom. Granted, the Olympus was at 53mm or so. The exif for both should be there.
Moreover, I did some subsequent tests inside, with some stitching, and the 43mm was the fuzziest of all my Pentax lenses. . https://picasaweb.google.com/112727920991755111585/NewFolder2#5698373974674902898
I think I may just have a faulty copy. Or it can't take flare, glare? Yet the indoor sghots were what convinced me to make an exchange. I figure so many enthusiasts can't be wrong.

I tried to communicate with a seller, and found that I have to post first once -- not once but twice.
I'm also new to Pentax, and have begun buying lenses for my K5. I like it!
I had extremely good luck with the 31mm ltd doing indoor shots for Xmas.
Very variable luck with the 43mm ltd. Out of doors, it fuzzed up even with a lens hood.
Indoors it did superbly sometimes, and fuzzed up at others.
I began to think I had a faulty copy, and went for an exchange with B& H. Anyone with similar experience??
