Grandson, 5yrs old. Pensive and thoughtful as he looked out toward the deer and turkey feeding at sundown at the ranch. The rays of light were not visible to the eye and didn't think much about it until 2 years later. That's when his young father died suddenly. Just lens flare? Maybe...or reassurance that daddy's little man would be OK?

Just to make sure the subject is closed definitively, now that I've used the DA17-70 for a few months, I can say the SDM lens motor works like a charm on the GX20. No compatibility issues at all. Cheers, Bob

I can't see your equipment list, so don't don't what camera body you have. But if you have the K10d with firmware upgrade or above and can use SDM lens, I can wholeheartedly recommend the:
DA17-70mm SDM & the
DA16-45mm
The 16-50 has a great number of satisfied users as well, just a little pricey. I just purchased the 17-70 and owned the 16-45 for 2-3 years. Both the 17-70 & the 16-45 are on the slow side at f4 compared to the 16-50's 2.8. But IQ is fantastic throughout the zoom range for both. In terms of IQ they are close to being twins. I'm so impressed with the silence of the SDM on the 17-70 and the quick focusing....almost seems like magic after using the noisy screw actuators. I ordered my 17-70 from Willoughby's for $529 and then found it next day at B&H for $489....aaarrrggghhh!!
Best bang for the buck is the DA16-45. Best zoom range option with the silence of SDM is the DA17-70.
Best of luck shopping!

LeDave, I have used these 3rd Party batteries before with no problem. The MAH refers more to the amounts of charge or powerlife the battery has when it is fully charged and the higher the MAH, the longer it will provide power before needing recharge. It is not a measure of the voltage or amperage delivered to the camera electronics. The power delivered to the camera on the Kinamax above is 7.4 volts which is the same as the Samsung genuine replacement battery. Just keep in mind that users of 3rd party parts do so at their own risk as Pentax and Sumsung only warrant their own branded products - not the 3rd party product. Trust this is helpful.

Yes, I was referring to the wizard. If you're in raw, doesn't apply. The wizard works through the in-camera processor. Sorry I'm a lazy J-peg'r and tend to set the pictures in-camera the way I want them with only occasional tweak. If you're in raw, you're likely processing 100% anyways. Have you decided the camera has a magenta bias or is the lens influencing it? Cheers, bj

This has been posted before, but wondering if there could be more recent info out there with fellow Samsungians! Would really like to purchase a GX20 Battery Grip before the 20 goes out of production. Only place I can find is a Korean shop at 220 USD free shipping. Has anyone purchased from Ebay Seller: bandy1999 ( 963) 99.8% in Gyunggido, Korea, South? A long way from Houston.
Thanks.

AXL, I bet you'll love the GX20 once you get used to its flexible "tweakability". I've owned the K100 and I owned the K10d, K-7, and the GX20 all at the same time. I sold both the K-7 and the K10d and kept the GX-20. It is the most solid, predictable, and consistent performer I've ever used.
For the magenta bias, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the lens. The sensor in the 20 will usually faithfully render what it sees through the lens. If that is not the case, check your color settings. It could be the red is cranked up a bit or one of the other colors is adjusted down. Happy shooting.

Thanks so much axl. After posting the query, I did examine the GX20 Mount closely and I located the SDM specific electrical contacts. So with your confirmation and my own verification, I feel comfortable taking delivery of the DA17-70mm SDM. Many thanks, Bob

Anyone know a quick answer whether the GX20 supports Pentax SDM lens without a firmware upgrade?

The K-7 is sold pending funds transfer. The k10d Kit with the new Samsung lenses are still available. Did I mention that it comes with a battery pack?
Come on you aspiring Pentaxians! There's got to be a newbie who wants to shake the earth when he hits the road with this outfit?? At $500 delivered and insured in the US? A real steal of a deal!
