KEH has a bargain one on sale today. I know that's not what you want precisely - you might reach out sometimes they are overly hard or optimistic about condition - calling you might be able to get a better feel for it.

And still another old film example. Ektar 25 Gen 1 in 135 canister. The film is much finer than whatever lens I used.
But in this picture the wenches are down below the deck and the winches are above it. Ektar 25 Gen 1 by tuco, on Flickr

This is a long exposure on a tripod taken in a museum in Stockholm. i used the tripod quite a lot there with no problems - not one tripod-nazi asked me to put it away :)

A virtually unused,still-in-the-box K 50 f1.2 !!
Got it from a friend of a friend who had bought it decades ago to use with his MX which he sold not long after, but never used the lens. Forgot he had it until recently found it in his closet, my friend said he knew someone into Pentax film gear (me), I offered him a fair price - now it has a new home where it will get used. |

Among other things... I would argue that it is actually easier to properly learn photography with film.
A K1000 for example, has 4 settings to learn and remember (aperture, shutter speed, focus, film speed), whereas a current entry level DSLR has probably 75 settings to learn and remember. Granted a DSLR can also be operated using only those 4 basic settings, but you still need to learn the 70+ other settings if only to rule out the possibility that they are the reason your photos didn't work. Alternatively, you can put your DSLR in full, in which case you don't actually learn much.
Obviously it is very possible to learn photography using a DSLR (many of us here learned that way), but to certain extent modern cameras are overly technical and complicated.
I started with a DSLR, and in a way I feel like I spent 2+ years learning to use my camera. It wasn't until I started shooting film that I feel like I truly started to learn photography.

I created an account just to rave about my two K1000s I got back this week. I sent them in mid-February, and considering he had surgery and is still recovering, I can't believe he got them back to me so fast! He fixed a sticky mirror, got me a counter cap, and both cameras look absolutely pristine, better than I remember. I was half convinced that these were new cameras being mailed back to me. Both were in pretty good aesthetic condition to begin with but Eric made them look brand new.
I've heard about the quality work Eric does on cameras, but, man, I had no idea he was this good! I'm a believer. 100/10. I cannot believe how awesome my cameras are right now.

Apparently, not many are using Google Pictures since you're not getting any help. I don't know what your options are with that service. But I also can't tell how you're linking your photos. Are you getting a BB code link from Google and copy/pasting it here? Or are you using the insert image icon in the comment menu?
A lot of us just use Flickr to host images we post. It has a free account and Flickr gives you a BB code link option you can copy/paste here and you don't have to worry Pentax Forums hosting your images you post.

In the interview they discuss Eric's apprentice, and his need for K1000s for training purposes. I contacted Eric and asked if he still needed those. He said yes, in any condition. I'm donating mine to the cause.

Hope I answered your questions via my emails. I get so busy sometimes. 15 emails a day on three different accounts and I might miss one which bothers me. Take care,
Eric

I just spent the last 30 minutes looking at his gallery and reading the essay and exhibit reviews. The early photographs are such a great document of those times. It really is a wonderful example of why shooting on film is so important. It also illustrates how digital technology can work so well with film today. Were it not for digital technology I and so many others who visit his page might not otherwise have the opportunity to view his photographs and because he used film his images will be available long after his website has disappeared into the digital ether.

Because I still haven't figured out how to load Ektar in my digital SLR!
Oh, and for under $500, I can shoot a camera with a 55mm x 70mm "sensor, and get 45 megapixel files :) Oh, and the "sensor" is interchangeable. :)
