Hadn't seen this anywhere on the forums, but apparently Adorama has a sponsored a Pentax KS-1 and K-3 segment this afternoon on CreativeLive as part of their Photo Week. I don't know what exactly John Carlson plans to cover, but hopefully it will be a nice bit of promotion for the brand.

I've felt like this on occasion, but I always manage to reign in my covetousness. What usually does it for me is to actually lay my hands on the gear I'm considering, talk to people who use that gear and visit their forums. Almost always I find that I'm happier sticking with the devil I know.

I don't know about that...If it wasn't for my wife, I wouldn't have the latest lens in my collection. Some how I won the wife and mother-in-law lottery.

I'm not sure about the video, but his article is here: Making the Most of Long Exposure Handhelds - Introduction - PentaxForums.com.

Very interesting thread. I'll have to play with this formula.

That works, just don't forget to also add some contrast in post to keep your shots from looking washed out.

Pentax 35mm for $150 and 50mm for $120. Other lenses too.

Ruggiex is dead on here. To me It's not the original mistake or whether they actually send out any $120 lenses. I'm really not going to be hugely impacted by not receiving a lens for $120. The fact is, cancelling all the orders is a perfectly applicable response. The problem is that SureSource apparently knew about the mistake and did nothing for two days, but continue to take orders, and are now continuing to handle the matter in a fairly amateur way that no one at B&H or Amazon should ever consider reasonable. Ricoh and any Pentax Web Store customers should question their trust in a company who can't do something as simple as change the price an item is selling for when they notice a problem.

Using my area as an indicator, the only place you might find one is the one specialty camera shop that stocks everything. There are no big box stores that I know of in this area stocking any full-frame cameras at all and that certainly doesn't bode well for the underdog.

That's my biggest complaint and the one that I wish Team FF would allow time to fix. I'm not saying never ever FF, but is it too much to ask that Pentax be allowed to put the resources they have available into creating something that will actually make it into stores and the infrastructure to widely market and distribute it? Then they can focus on providing a real system that meets the needs of the FF niche; not just a body that ought to be a prototype rushed out with no decent system. All in the name of getting people to stop screaming like children who want ice cream now.

For any I-need-an-FF-now types who wish to respond, I have a favor to ask, please include with any response a specific answer to the following question: Why do you need a Pentax FF camera? Note: I'm not interested in the general technical aspects I know about FF vs APS-C. I want to know why you specifically must have a Pentax FF right now. I genuinely want to know why it is suddenly so important.

I question the future of Pentax if these Full-Framers get their wish. In fact, I wish I had a few million dollars to buy everyone that "needs" a FF camera a Nikon or Canon so that they'll go away and let the company focus on actually fixing itself. Honestly, I couldn't care less if they ever release a FF camera, because they will never last as a company without fixing their marketing and distribution problems. They absolutely shouldn't be wasting cycles on throwing a minority a bone, when they ought to be focusing full-time on entering markets like India and fixing ones like the US to increase their visibility and market share. They need an increased market share a lot more than they need to put good money into a FF camera nobody is going to buy because they've never heard of Pentax.
