Hi all,

I am in need of a reputable camera shop in the Four Corners area of the USA. I only need a good cleaning, not major repairs. I am leery of shipping my camera anywhere. I also don't like the turn around time. I would be without my camera for 10 days(??). We live in Aztec, NM> We are willing to drive to Albuquerque or Santa Fe.
Anyone have any idas??

Thanks,
BIll

I turned the focusing ring from side to sie. At one end I heard a slight click and the auto focus now works. Appearently it wasn't engaged?

I have an 8 yr old *ist DS with the original SMC DA 18-55mm lens. The lens stopped auto focusing this morning. It tries, but will not "lock in". I also have another lens that "locks" fine. Is it the lens motor on my 18-55 that is shot or what??

Wasn't me. You're right there aren't many of us around. Even fewer *ist D's. I'm enjoying myself so far. This is a great forum, especially for us Pentax folk!

Thanks, Pete.
It's a lot of fun with a steep but fun learning curve.

Hi all. I'm new to Pentax forums. I have been shooting with a Pentax *ist D since it was new in 2004. I have always use fully Auto and was pleased. Last year I retired and decided it was time to learn how to use the equipment I have, now that I have time. I'm looking forward to picking a lot of your brains in the future.
Thanks, Bill
