I was having the same issue until I extracted the zip file and copied it directly from the folder that it unzipped in to the root directory of the SD card. The unzip operation placed it in a folder and apparently the camera could not recognize it there.

I don't know if anyone else has this problem but I am unable to set the date on my K1. I go to date and time and input the correct date and time, hit OK to save each setting and exit the menu. When I go back into the menu, the date has reset itself to November 6th 2018 and the time changes back to a 24 hour format with the time correct except that it is 12 hours off! I have updated the firmware to 1.41 and no help. Anyone hear of this?

Thank you all for the input. Many things I was not considering (depth of field limitations for example). I have not looked into non-auto focus lenses principally because I am used to my old focusing prism where I could see clearly whether I was in focus or not. The digitals force you to take you eye off of the subject to look down at a small annunciator to indicate correct focus and I have not yet gotten used to doing that. Given the price advantage it might be worthwhile to experiment with one of those initially rather than dumping a ton of money into a lens that isn't quite what I expected.

I read many of the postings on how to best determine the "best" prime lens to purchase. Most of the photographs I take tend to be of people in groups; indoors. So my sense that a wide prime would not be especially flattering to my subject, so I am leaning in the direction of a 50 to 55 mm prime that is fairly fast. However, pricing on these lenses can vary wildly from reasonable to as much as the camera body. Now, I am not so concerned with the price, but I am not a pro, so I get bogged down in the minutia of capabilities for each lens. I want a good fast lens that won't disappoint me with image quality so I can get away from maxing my ISO (and subsequent noise in my photos) to get well exposed indoor photographs without using my flash. Is it possible to boil it down to; "If you have to by one, this is the one you should buy".

Thanks for the information. The more I read up on these flashes, the more confusing it became. I like the fact that the Metz is more powerful and was leaning in that direction.

I have been looking for a flash for my K-x and I am trying to decide between the Metz 50-AF-1 and the Pentax AF-360. I am not sure if the Metz will work off camera in P-ttl mode or as a slave with the camera's flash acting as the master. A guy at B-H said the flash would need an additional flash acting as the master mounted on the hot shoe in order for the flash to work in P-ttl mode with the K-x. He also told me the Metz had to be in line-of-sight in order to pick up the infrared signal from the K-x in order to fire, is this the same with the Pentax flash? I only want to buy one flash, does anyone have a recommendation between these two flash units? Pro's and con's??
