I am more than satisfied with the K1 but there is always room for improvements (more the 170000 pictures done with my K1-I)
- There is no need for a higher resolution, but I wouldn't mind - doubling the resolution of the K3 is the upper limit
- An improvement in the high ISO would be fine for concert photography
- High speed frame rate as least as the K3 would be fine
- Bigger Buffers for longer high speed sessions is a must, I would prefer unlimited pictures in raw mode (12 per second), the pauses at the K1 are more than boring
- A real fast transfers peed to the cards is a must
- A BSI sensor as in the K3-III would be fine
- Adapting all improvements of the K3 III is mandatory
- GPS must be kept, I'm doing town and landscape photography and I didn't like the GPS external adaption - K3 way - it's to bulky and no external trigger or flash is possible. maybe it can be moved to the battery grip
- A noiseless real electronic shutter with mirror up is a need

I'm using GPS in all my pictures, except for repro at home. It's one of the reasons i don't Like the K3-III.

I'll prefer a fast card for at least two reasons.
- Fast exchange if full. I don't like to wait until the internal storage is emptied to my computer during an important phase. Switch cards ready. Several cards available, quick and easy
- Breakdown of the drone/ camera. How to access the last data internally?
- Removing card, assuring that no third person has access to my data (security personal, moving across borders always with no or empty card in.)

I'm in the lucky situation, that I'm happy with my K1 and my K3. If I can go to festivals and concerts again, there may be a small need for the K3-iii. The money for that is already set aside. I think this may be possible by the end of the year and I hope that at this time the rumors for he K1-III will start. Therefore there is no masochism - for me

I'll think they will use the K3-III is also an test-case for the new K1.
There is a new processor an new rgb-ir sensor and a new accellerator unit.
If the Kati is successfull in a technical point of view, will will see rumors of new K1-III.
But it will take some time because they wont sell the the new top aps-c

When I'm out just for fun than it is one lens 24-105.
When I'm going to concert 24-70 2.8 and 70.200 (when I got an accreditation)
When I'm on a photo-tour in a town or on holiday irix 11mm, 15-30, 24-70, 70-200 in a camera backpack - yes it is heavy and the strolling will last round about 3 hours. The 150-450 an a tripod in the car to take it with me when there is a need for.

I didn't get any answers to my concrete questions about the contradiction what this guy (technical editor) says and what is in the pictures to be seen by exiftool. The sequence of photos vanished a second time and were replaced by a third set - with little better results.

The question for the minimal and the maximal distance - because of the DOF - was never answered. At least two guys have been asking
I think dpreview made a bad job for their reputation with that.

I like the lcd screen. It fits 95 percent of my usage but sometimes I would like to have it turned a 180°. When I put the camera on the floor to take a UWW picture of the ceiling of a room, or put it directly to a wall to get the opposite wall or object. For all other cases i pref the K1 system because i keeps in line with the camera axis

I'm using the Da35mm Macro, the 50mm 2.8 Macro and the 100mm Macro with my K1 on this type of stand. It depend's on the size of the object. Sometimes i'm using the K3 with this 3 lenses (utilising the build in 1.5 APSC tc and the higher Resolution).
I think most of the time it is the 50mm Macro

This shouldn't be a Problem, my cameras have the following shuttercount
K1 120506
K3 85369
K5 88667
K20D 87206
and all are going strong
You should have a look on the body, wether it is damaged or not. My K3 is still used on music Festivals with excellent results.

Typically no. Modern coatings are good enough in normal cases.
if I'm in a hard environment desert with wind, at the ocean with wind and sand. In a heavy duty factory (metal / glas melting, welding and things like that) I take an uv filter to protect the front lens from accidental mechanical damage

I'm using raw and a 128GB Card and a 256 GB card both sandisk
The camera reports
3220 Pictures for the 256 GB Card and
1612 Pictures for the 128GB Card
Both card work fine, the small one for 3 years, the big on for nearly one year.
The sizes are consistent with the values read in my pc and the calculation with the file sizes. (typically 46 MB per raw picture, this is the average value from 32000 picures)
In jpg I get 11124 pictures for the big and 5572 for the small card in the highest quality, but I don't use this format.
Your shown value for the 64 GB card are wrong, it must be 808 for raw and 2799 for jpg, I've tested it with a card from my k3.
With a 32 GB card you get 402 for Raw and 1394 for jpg, I've tested it with a spare card from my k3
The real values for the picture count are round about 60% higher as shown on the camera display.
Are you sure that you get real cards and no fakes? There are a lot of fakes around. It seems as if you got such.

I do not think there are a lot of cameras with this capacity on one battery. This camera is not power hungry. My k3 and k5 habe nearly the same numbers

1200 is quite normal for me with one pentax battery with my K-1, but I'm nearly not using the LCD and the camera goes to sleep after one minute.
My youngest is about 3 years, 3 others are more than 5 years no difference

I'm doing a lot of photographs on concert's. There a total of 1500 pictures at an evening is quite normal. I filled up 64 GB Cards several times using the second card, and I don't want to think about wether both cards will get filled. Therefore I'm using 128 GB cards, none of them I got filled during one session.
Recently there was a real cheap advertisement for this 256 GB Card from sandisk and I give it a try. It works fine.
I would never go on a trip without a backup. I always take a laptop with me.
The daily results will be copied to the laptop and on a second external disk and the sd card gets formatted in the camera.
If there where a performand, energy saving way to copy in the camera from card one to two, it would be a easy way to backup with sd cards, but the build in mode is to slow and therfore using to much from the battery. Can I copy a 128 GB card with one battery with the build in mode - I never tried it?

My average Value over 32000 raw PEF pictures is 46 MB
With Pixelshift raw it is 150 MB per picture
I'm using a 256 GB sandisk micro sdxc with an sd adapter from sanddisk.
Round about 5000 raw pictures will fit on the card.

Thats correct - it is not allowed there -, but a most of them would not recognize a Theta as a camera

28-105 all time on alk around zoom, sometimes with the modified 60-250
Irix 11mm, Pentax 15-30, 24-70, 70-200, 150-450 combined in the way needed

But with the Hasselblad adapter on all FF APS-C .. Cameras
And for some formats a shift adaprer is available
A high performance full mechanical 23mm Shift lens should be fine

Maybe another reason, why I don't have the problem, is, after copying the pictures to the computer, I put back the card to the camera and format the card there. I don't delete pictures on the card, and the reformatting gives the card the chance of wear leveling the file system.
