Issues with SDM lenses

I've recently started having issues with SDM lenses on my K-3.

I have two lenses, the 50-135 and the Sigma 18-35.

The lenses occasionally just don't move when I half press the shutter, or press the AF button.

If I manually focus the lens sometimes it comes good, and starts to work again.

It seems like the lens isn't getting enough voltage and the motor can't over come the static friction. When it does move, it seems slower than it used to be.

If anything the Sigma lens seems faster / easier to get moving again.

Screw drive lenses work fine.

I've tried a number of batteries, and charged them fully, it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I had seen that Guitar Wolf were playing a gig in another city on social media, and lamented not being able to make it to their show. Then a couple of days later they were in my town, which was rather unexpected since this isn't a big place. Camped out at the front of the crowd all night I got a couple of good shots. It wasn't an easy choice about which one I liked more.

Fortunate enough to be traveling in Europe at the moment. We were walking though Helsinki looking for a large Russian church, crossing over the river near the ports on a foot bridge, covered in locks with names and dates on them. I hope Tomi and Cindy are still going strong.

I really love the 06 Lens, can be a bit slow to focus, but when it gets there, damn.

There are 2 things I would love to see on the next Q.

1. Horizon correction (it has SR, so this shouldn't have been imposible?)

2. Auto-rotation of images - this drives be nuts when I'm going through images, having to rotate them.

Are either of these features on the new Q7?

Cheers, Tim.

Been traveling with my K-5 and Pentax Q. On a ferry ride I managed to snap this with the Pentax Q and the 06 Lens (the longest lens I am travelling with). Quite pleased with the result. I still carry my K-5 with me, and when I want to setup on a tripod and get a shot of something specific I do, but I am really loving shooting with the Q.

The front page said I needed to have at least one forum post to comment on an article, so I'm saying hi.

I'm an armature photographer who enjoys shooting the local ice hockey team and concerts at the local pub, and whenever i am fortuneate enough to travel. My first SLR was the K100D Super, and I still love that camera, not sure why :)

Shooting with a K5 and a Pentax Q now.

Cheers, Tim.
