Well, if you want to give away the k100, I could use it.. I have one that won't turn on (battery sensor, won't see full power) and won't fire with a power supply. It turns on, but when I press the shutter release, I only get a '3' displayed on the lcd, and no other action.
Oh, and what company is that supplies the Pentax parts? I could use a new ccd sensor for my *st DS....

I looked at that one.. but if it is taking pictures as a streak, couldn't its ccd also be defective? Hard to tell without a sample or more information, I would think... thoughts?

No, it is not a stuck aperture... I have tried it without a lens just to get a white picture, but it was still black. I have tried to search the net for a replacement sensor, but have been unable to locate a source. A repair service would have to charge more than it would be worth to fix, given you can get used ones at about the same or less on ebay.
I used to fix my old Petri mechanical cameras, and wouldn't mind having a go at this one...

That would have been nice, but no dice... made no difference with a new card.

Well, I know it is not the shutter or the mirror, as I have take the lens off and fired off a few shots and I can see the shutter open and the mirror go up (and a quick view of the sensor).... it should have resulted in a white, not detail picture, but it is till just a black square.

I went out this last weekend to a Boy Scout activity to take pictures... the camera starts up normally, I can review pictures taken (prior to this event), and it focuses correctly. However, when I take the picture it only results in a black picture... nothing else. The review window shows a black screen as well.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
*** Made typo on the title... it is a DL not a DS
