Excellent work my friends - a tremendous amount of high quality work on display here! I must make it a point to visit and participate more often.
A few more from my black and white phase I have recently posted. All with the K-5 and various limited prime lenses. Untitled by CMS Houston, on Flickr Untitled by CMS Houston, on Flickr Untitled by CMS Houston, on Flickr

Not that it solves the problem if your copy if the 35mm has an issue, but I find one of the advantages of the K-01 to be focus peaking which should improve your keeper rate with manual focus.
I don't think I have ever had my 35mm on my K-01, but now I am curious.

Shared a color version of this image some time ago in the critique forum. Thought it would look good reprocessed in B&W. Shot with the K-5 and 40mm DA Ltd. ---------- Post added 04-03-14 at 10:43 PM ---------- ---------- Post added 04-03-14 at 10:44 PM ----------

Got the opportunity to spend some quality time with my K-01 this last week while on vacation in Colorado. One of my favorite features of the K-01 is focus peaking which I use for really shallow DOF work. Both taken with the 35mm limited prime lens. Thank you to all for your constructive feedback and comments. I took another crack at editing the image this evening incorporating your feedback. Where the original is a single exposure with +2 exposure compensation, the edit below is a 5 image exposure image stitch done with the intent of expanding the dynamic range and hopefully adding more depth to the sky. I also boosted the white balance for each of the 5 RAW images from 5500k to 6200k to address the blueish tint. I even toyed around with a 4:3 aspect ratio, but didn't like it as much as the 3:2 aspect ratio in the original because it cut off more of the depression that I wanted. Thanks again! |
