Worth visit:
- Sigiriya
- Kelaniya temple (near Colombo)
- Kandy
- Dambulla
- Polonnaruwa
- tea plantations in the mountains
- rice fields (you'll find it almost everywhere)
- hindu temples are really colourful and full of statues/details
- buddha statues @ gangaramaya
- there's a corner somwhere on Colombos streets where you can find transvestites/drag queens in the night (can't find the name)...that's if you are fancy of this kind of views
Those are the sites for tourists - every guide/driver knows them.
There are fees entrance to most of tourists sites, but you can buy one ticket (voucher?) which is cheaper than buying tickets separately for each site.
Sunset/sunrise is approx 6am/6pm - just to make you aware when taking sunrise/sunset captures.
Was there in December for three weeks, shot approx 3500pics and I'll tell you that best photos I took was the ones when I came off the track...just watching normal living. People swimming/jumping to rivers, kids having fun, etc. Plenty of smiling and friendly people in there - don't forget to wear your smile ;)

Sorry for such a long time gap in answering.
It's exactly the same like in the UK. It's Canon and Nikon world out there, isn't it? All I can do is search online and in 'second hand stores' (manual lenses is what can be found most often). But that doesn't spoil all the fun when shooting with Pentax, right? :)

Hi guys,
Happy owner/user of K-7 (with 3 lenses) for 2 months now. Was using Sony hybrid before. There's plenty for me to discover in photography, and a lot about Pentax - will get most of both in this forum, hopefully!
