K-x Battery Life with Video

Just wanted to update:

Got the eneloops. Updated the firmware. I haven't done any filming while moving around, so the image stabilizer isn't running all the time, but just setting the camera on my desk and shooting video while I work, the batteries are holding up about a million times better. I've probably done over an hour of video on my first charge of the eneloops.

So to anyone have ANY problems with your K-x: First thing, firmware update.

ALTHOUGH, battery meter still sucks. Went to red before I was done with the first 12 minutes and it's been red every since. It would be nice if that worked. Oh well. Just film till you can't, right?

Thanks everyone.

K-x Battery Life with Video

Hey all. I did a search for my problem but all I keep seeing are problems with the battery meter and not actual battery life. I was using my K-x pretty sparingly for the first year and just for photos. I think I went through maybe one set of AAs. Decided to start messing with video and I've noticed that batteries will only last for about 10-15 minutes of shooting before they're dead (high res, no sound, image stabilization on and off, live view on—I think it has to be for video?). Not just red battery meter, but camera-shut-off dead. Is that normal? Would a firmware update be able to fix that? I don't see how faulty firmware could drain the battery like that. I tried Duracell, Duracell Pro-cells, and Energizers. All of them just eaten up. I've been meaning to get some rechargeable Eneloops, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

How much battery life is everyone getting when shooting video?

Thanks,
Brian
