Well I think, if Pentax uses a sensor, a bit smaller than FF, letīs say a crop 1,1 it will be still FF for me, and the image circle would be enough. I donīt want to miss SD in my camera, and Sony is for me a no go.

This sensor will be difficult for a sensor stabilitation ...
So lets think of progam based stabilisation ..:
If you konw the movement of the camera you can decreas the blur by a program.
And I donīt want to know the price for a lens for this one ...

The spirit of slr is full control.

Well I think Adam should tell us, it was a joke! April the first is over!
I found the original pic of a k-5 silver on "http://www.longlenses.de/2011/02/pentax-k-5-silver-edition-vorgestellt" and if you look at the light reflections it should be the same picture.
Letīs make a poster with a picture with a Pantax FF and the text on it "I want to belive".
Porpably many would buy it ...

If I had the money, I like to use the best camera on the market...
So I have to choose a camera I can afford.. The FF has itīs advantages, shure.
But the cheaper sensors get better. So the IQ differnce is not so big now.
Well lets wait for D4 and D800, and talk agin.

Well not with this one but I bought one for my K10D and it is working very well. It should be fine but if you really want to be shure that nothing happens to your Q you should take the original. To expensive, but if somethings gets wrong itīs a problem for Pentax. If something is wrong with the 3er party batterie itīs your problem. Well on the oher Hand what shuld went wrong?

If you have the same point of takeing the picture, same object, same lense and the same distance to the sensor, the picture is of course not the same on APS-C anf FF!
If you have a larger sensor, than you have a larger angel that can be shown on the sensor.
That should be clear.
So if you just compare the equal Picture, than the Shallow deth on FF is bigger.

Grüas Good,
Well if you say the point of takeing the picture is the same, than of course you have the same shallow deth. But the picture is not the same ...
If you want to make a equal picture, then you have to get closer to the object with FF, than you have more shallow deth. Look at the distancemeter on your lens; (Sorry my english is not very good in this point) the closer you get the more shallow deth you have.
A 75 mm lens has more shallow deth than a 50 mm right? But with an APS-C you have the equal picture with 50 mm like 75 mm on FF.

I argee with you in any point exept the shallow depth. If you got a larger sensor, you have to get closer to the object to get the same picture. The closer you get the more shallow deth you get

But at the moment I can not compare the two cameras (no informatin for D800) ...
I wanted to say, that APS-C is not so bad (at the moment), FF is not musch better. If you got a FF lens, the quality in the corners wonīt be better than on APS-C.

Well FF is nice but I doubt that the IQ will be much better! especially in the corners. The K5 has a pretty good quality and if you compare it wit the D700 there is no big difference on IQ (checkt on DxOMark - DxOMark by DxO Labs).
Pentax says they are keen on searching for niches for there products.
Well I really do not want a nich product!
I just want good quality to a reasonable price. Nothing more or nothing less.

When I work with manual focus it ist sharp as usual, but with AF there was no sharp point. That was surprising me.
But now I get the feeling it is a problem wiht the teperature. I discovered the problem in the last weeks outside. Today I made another try in my room and in manual and AF the lens was very sharp. Now I feel a bit like a fool, but in the coid I had a serious problem with the blurr.
You can forget every picture wich is not sharp!

Hello everybody,
Iīve the smc Pentax-FA 1:1.4 50mm and well itīs sharp, and pretty good, but if I take picures with the AF itīs not sharp.
First time I was thinking maybe itīs the temprature it was abuot minus 10 °C (about 14 F) but if I do focusing manually ist really, really sharp.
with other lenses I donīt have the problem.I checked it, no problem with Autofocus ....
Well i have the feeling, there isnīt one sharp piont, Itīs in gereral blurred.
I was taking a testphoto on transversly ground, so I think it is not a focusing problem, I think there is something wrong with the lens in AF mode.
Camara is K10D.

Yes I was hoping for a K-5 replacement too. I still got the K10D and well I thing itīs time for a change... If there will be a replacement for the Kr we can be shure, it canīt be better than the K-5. The K-5 will be in the shops for at least a few more months. So if the new Kr would be better than the K-5there would be no use of buying a K-5. They say the K-01 has the same cmos like the K-5 but the quality is better.... I want a DSLR! nothing else! With a OVF!
