The use of the doll attached to your tripod is...creative, if a bit disturbing. Lens seems interesting, to say the least! (Enjoy the free bump for your creativity.)

Always stunning to see such a well preserved piece of Pentax history.

Best of luck selling this thing - Quite possibly one of the best portraiture wide-standard zooms I've had the pleasure of working with in this system. (Just sharp enough to get the face at 2.8/50 - Stunning.)

Try new angles. Get down low or stand on something to adjust perspective slightly, it makes for a drastic shift in some scenarios.

Had this lens for a brief period, can't recommend it enough as a MF play lens.

Kind of hard to be impressed with the same stats presented again with a higher price tag. That, and the lack of OBF makes for a slight concern to more than those the built in GPS excites.

Just my two cents here, but you could always shoot in RAW+JPEG and have the JPEG set to 2MP or something small, just to preview photos before deciding which to convert, if the JPEG quality is of any real concern. (Generally the leap from 90%-95% quality isn't massive, unless you're reallllly peeping, you won't see much degradation)

There's a Mamiya 80/1.9 - Not 1.2, but it's pretty fast and has a DOF 'close' to 1.2 on 35mm.
There's also some aerial photography lenses that boast things like f0.75, but they're softer than cotton and aren't really viable for normal images. (There's other such lenses as well, like the 25/1.0 fisheyes made for the Canadian gov't to research the aurora in the north.
I'm sure someones special ordered a 1.2 or 1.4 lens for a MF camera, but it no doubt weighs 20 lbs and is cost prohibitive.

I'm willing to bet that meeting went as follows:
Exec 1: "We present to you, the 100mm WR Limited Macro!"
Exec 2: "Get out. We don't do WR limiteds, and already have a macro LTD."
In short: Probably didn't get it due to the time it was released...no other reason.

Now if only Pentax would start selling that sort of stuff again...(DA AFA 1.2x would be nice, haha)

I'm busy telling myself not to buy it, for fear of my girlfriend stealing it from me due to it's size.
Pretty snazzy deal though, just wish they had more lenses available for purchase.

It looks...cheap now.
I'd much rather have dated and weird over cheap.

Probably just a Pentax version of the 17-85 Canon has had for ages.

My advice would be sell it. Mirror lenses are finicky as it is, and might not play very well (Softness) with optical adapters.
Either that, or shoot with some film minolta bodies.
Edit: Upon looking at it's potential, maybe get an optical adapter just to see, and if it's not very usable, sell it. Or perhaps mount it to a mirrorless body, if you have one.

32 ISO? That'll make the film lovers happy, I'm sure.

You'll need an optical converter to use a minolta mount lens. With an older zoom, it's probably not worth the loss in IQ.
Perhaps fool around with an old Minolta film camera?

Slightly higher than 1/160 might have yielded the best of both worlds. Sharp driver and body, "Motion blurred" wheels and backdrop.
Either way, looks pretty nice.

Lower the ISO, shoot at a higher aperture. Alternatively, do what was previously mentioned and simply lower the exposure time.

Is the aperture ring in the "A" position? If not, switching it to that may help if you haven't enabled shooting with manual aperture lenses (Which you could also do). Usually there's a small button you have to press to switch from "A" to aperture ring based adjustments, by the way.
