Got mine from a local distributor here in Manila. I'll return it and see if it's possible for them to replace it. I'm just worried that I won't be able to re-create the problem at the store :(

Hi Armanius, just wanted to know if you are still experiencing this problem. When you returned the lens did you replace it with a different copy of the same lens?
I get the same problem with my new 18-135 WR. Noticed it can't focus sometimes when using focal length in between 18 and 135 (both ends are fine). I usually encounter this when focusing at very far distances (perhaps infinity focus) of foliage, mountains, etc. Or sometimes when shooting against the light.

Hi All! Just bought a K5 last month with the 18-135 kit lens. Was originally a Nikon user, then a Canon user and now I just got tired of lugging all that gear around :)
Already took the K5 and the kit lens for a hike in one of our mountains here in the Philippines and truly enjoyed how compact and solid the camera is!
I noticed that when I google anything Pentax-related this forum always tops the list and has a wealth of info to share! Hope to learn more about this cam from here. :)
