Bull Frogs are here, NJ, early this year. This little guy got in the frame of another shot was taking, so for the next few frames, he became the subject.

Thanks fg-one,
I think your cropping definitely looks better. I do need to commit to what kind of portrait I take. I do, unfortunately take too many shots that fall in between posed and action. I also tend to want to save too much of the background.

Thanks,
Reed

Storage of photos

Sherie,
I assume your question was meant to invoke a simple answer of how to store old photos and not a peeing contest on the knowledge(or lack there of) of digital storage technology and indefinite storage of media.

Store your photos in...

Any cool, dry place is good to store photos.
Cardboard or plastic are not recommended for long term storage unless they are marked 'acid-free.'
Simple storage can be done in any acid free or metal storage box
Acid-free sleeves can be purchased to individually protect prints if necessary.

I hope at least some of the information on this thread has been useful to you.

Are we photographers? Or whiners? Or gear-fetishists?

Todd,
As a new member of this forum, I have to agree with you. I come from a Canon and Sony background (I do hate Sonys, but do like Nikons). I was shocked at all of the complaining about lens prices, Ricoh and the future. I bought a camera for one reason. TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS!!! I try to avoid all the whining on these forums, but it gets annoying. If you can't afford a lens, don't buy it! If you want a full frame, look elsewhere! If Ricoh is scary and mean, GROW UP! There are too many nickel prima donnas on this board ruining it for the rest of us. Maybe there should be a whiners category on the forum for the non-photographers.

That being said, there are a lot of great people on this board who are more than helpful and make it a great place to learn. I've seen excellent photography, excellent advice and hope the comments I've made are appreciated as much as I appreciate the comments I have received.

Thank you Todd for this thread and hopefully the intended audience will read it and learn from it.

P.S. Canikon is also used at other photo forums. Even when I shot Canon, I never saw it as derogitory, just as an, 'all other camera users thing.', kind of like all tissues are kleenexes or all soda, coke.
