I just saw a commercial last night for an American insurance company (Nationwide, IIRC). The ad shows burglers breaking into a home stealing items. The company wanted to highlight their replacement plan with identical items. To do this, they have an attractive woman in a leather black cat suit slithering around behind the burglers replacing everything they take. Then I noticed midway through that there was a K-01 stolen off a kitchen counter. I can't be sure but it appeared Nationwide replaced it with a FF version K-02. :p

Try the Fuji X10. Great design. Nice fast zoom and great for macro. Should be found used in that price range. Very sleek and stylish.

Great work, Rokas! I think wedding photography has to be such hard work and pressure filled. Your pictures are wonderful and your use of the 21 mm is great. I mean you are right up there close. Very intimate. I love the shot with the couple being framed by the man with the French horn and the man with the drum.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Pentax K5/ M50 Pentax Clear Out Asking Price
see details USD Item Location
Birmingham, AL (United States) Item Description
I am stepping away from dSLR's for a time. I have spent too much time hoarding.:) Now I am selling my wonderful K5. In addition, I am basically including a bunch of stuff that clears the cabinet out. All the items below (1-11) for $500.
1. My K5 was purchased in 3.21. 2012 new. It has the latest FW. It comes with box, manual, strap, all the original items with an additional battery (so two batteries total), paperwork. I have had it serviced for a mirror overrun issue ( a well known K5 issue) in 6.2012. No problems since. It was cleaned and calibrated which made a huge difference from what was the original setting. All of my lenses worked much better, especially the Limiteds. It has had sceen protectors since day one. There is a film protector over the top LCD and a GSS screen over the back LCD. The last shot I took was #8879. Send me a PM if you need the exact count. It should be safe to save it is under 10K.
1a. I also have the remained of the two year extended warranty. Paperwork included.
2. Pentax M 50 mm 1:2. ( I am bundling this. I would not sell this separately.) It is well worn. I would call it in bargain condition. The aperture ring works well and the blades are clean. There is the usual dust. The barrel has what I consider a moderate amount of brassing. Comes with both front and rear caps.
3. Pentax F remote in box.
4. ExpoDisc 67 mm white balance tool
5. I have, in addition to the original white camera body cover, 3 other Pentax body covers. also a film camera VF cover.
6. 2 Pentax and 2 generic rear lens mount caps, which are good to have as backups.
7. Lens Caps: 3 Pentax 52 mm pinch caps, 1 Pentax 49 mm pinch cap, 1 metal Honeywell Pentax 49 mm M42 Tak cap.
8. 52 mm Marumi Circular polarizer, plain 49 mm Tiffen sky filter, Tiffen 52 mm rubber collapsable rubber shade. Hoya 49 mm filter holder, Pentax unused strap from film camera.
9. Two Lens pouches, well padded.
10. 49-->52 step up ring, 52--->49 step-down ring.
11. Cokin A series filter 52 mm adapter ring and 2 filter holders and a varied assortment of A filters which work fine for lens up to 62 mm (per Cokin). Separate Item for sale: 12a. I am selling separately my Pentax 18-135 mm zoom. It includes the original box, hood, cap and rear mount. I would describe the lens in excellent condition. I am the original owner.
12b I will include a Mountain Smith lens case.
12c I will also include a B+W 62 mm MRC UV filter with case. Motor works great and it is quiet.

@Rupert: Have you ever used the Pro low light when taking a picture of say a ceiling fan? I was in a restaurant and did by accident. I think it can be a cool effect. As X10/20 users know the pro low light takes a series of shots. It is great if the subject is still. If there is movement, not so great. But, with the ceiling fan I can often (not always) get the blades to look more like they are moving.
DSCF6875 by FredandBella, on Flickr" target="_blank"> DSCF6875 by FredandBella, on Flickr
Here is an example. All of the fans are moving in this shot. From left to right the 1,2,3,4 fans are a varying effect of the Pro low light. The 6th fan has some motion blur I would expect with a slower shutter speed. The 5th is typical of stopping the action with a fast shutter speed dictated by the light present.
Try it out.

DA 15 mm Limited Asking Price
$525 USD Item Location
Alabama (United States) Item Description
For sale is the wonderful DA 15 mm Limited. I purchased from another user here on the forum. It is in excellent shape. If you are looking at this listing, you probably know how special the lens is. The lens come with the pouch, box, both front and rear caps. I have the original screw in cap and a generic 49 mm pinch type cap that I use when I am out and about. I will also include my 49 mm filter ring that allows the use of the pinch cap. (The filter ring has no glass, intentionally).

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
DA * 55 mm Limited with B+W MRC filter included Asking Price
$575 USD Item Location
Birmingham (United States) Item Description
For Sale:
1. The DA* 55 mm limited. The this is a wonderful lens that I bought off another member around a year ago. It works great. The IQ is wonderful. This is a great portrait lens. It is nice for those looking for a portrait lens but find the 70/77 limiteds as too long a FL. I love the 55 mm FOV for portraits and it is not too long to use as a walk around lens.
No need for correction on my K5. The lens is in excellent condition. There has been no hint of an SDM issue. I have used in the rain without problems, too. The lens comes with both original caps and the original hood and case with the box.
2. I will also throw in a B+W 58 mm 007 Neutral MRC filter for free.
shoot me a PM for questions. I am looking for a quick sell.

I think you may be right. I hope so. I really don't want to hassle with a return/repair. That said I have a hood now and will try it out. I have indoor shots with the ND filter and no difference in IQ. I was able to recover on in Aperture3 the loss of contrast and adjustment of the exposure. The first example was so bad I couldn't correct it.
I have to say, I don't remember reading about severe flare and PF,too. Maybe I just shot at an extreme. That is bright overcast, wide open with a built in ND filter and no hood. If that is the case, I can live with it.

@GDRoth: Thanks. I have been there on occasion. It does seem to be a nice active site. Not quite like here.
@Tuco: I corrected my original post at the other site. All the shots were with the same ISO(200), DR (100), and F-stop (2).
I will go out and shoot some more and see if I can see what makes this happen.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
K5 L-Plate Asking Price
70 USD Item Location
Alabama (United States) Item Description
Up for sale is my Kirk L-plate. This is a camera mounted Arca-Swiss type plate dedicated for the K5 without grip. It works with Kirk clamps and I can confirm that it works with my RRS lever clamp. For those that don't know the L-plate allows for both horizontal and vertical camera mounting and the ability to quickly change without having to reposition the tripod head. It is great for portraits in that the weight of the camera sits over the tripod head and not off to the side. It is also better than cheap generic Arca style plates that are not dedicated to a specific Camera Model. This is due to the ability to prevent twisting of the camera relative to the plate.
I went to Kirk and RRS to see as a comparison what the cost would be. I believe they ran around $120-130 new. But, it appears that neither company supports Pentax K5/IIs models with a dedicated plate (L plate or otherwise). Generics are available but not dedicated to the K5 body. So if you are interested in one, get it while you can. I don't see these come up too often. I bought this for the K5 without grip. Though it may work for K5II/s models, I can't confirm. The dimensions appear to be the same so if interested for the K5II/s, double check that the body dimensions haven't changed. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

I need some help from the many great X users here. I recently bought the X100s. I was out shooting some sample snaps and tried out the ND filter. There seems to be an excessive drop off in contrast. I was hoping to get a collective opinion as to whether I need to ask for an exchange in the camera. I am away from my photos but posted examples on a Fuji site (very little activity). Please let me know what you think. Even in the small web-sized images they loss looks obvious to me. This was a big selling point for me to have the ND filter. I wonder if it is dirty or defective.
