Thanks to Adam have got the lens to work on K5 [despite my error reading his advice]..........firing is no problem but can it operate on auto-focus or does manual focus have to be used.

Thanks for the quick reply and gave it a try using the red A setting on the lens but nothing nothing happens......the camera does not even fire.

I have a K5 and would like to trying using a Pentax A lens 28-80mm zoom but need advice as how to reset the camera settngs on the menu. I have no problem with the supplied lens but would like to try this A lens.

Any advice welcome.

Seriouslt thinking of buying battery grip [and not a cheapo look a like!] I am just not sure of the product number.


Any help would be useful plus if any memeber knows a good best price supplier.

I have a Pentax M lens 135mm which I want to use on my new P5...........30o page instrustion book take time to work through [and full of techie langauge] and many things are beyond me!!

What setting do I need to use the lens on manual focus - I can use the lens but I have to use my old eyes to get focus correct - I have not been able to set so the it bleeps when focus is correct.

Any help would be appricated.

Just bought a K5, getting to grips with it slowly but would like to know which is the best SD card [32GB or larger] to buy to cope with both RAW/JPEG images and using the movie feature.

Concerned that I buy a card that will stop while catpuring the movie to send to memory.

Your experiences please.

You are not the only Members to confirm the battery life is around 500 per session. May not invest in a battery grip - will have to try the camera when it arrives.

Good idea, i was going to wait and see how things go - it might just be cheaper to by a second battery and always have a spare to carry around.

My Insurance company are supplying me with a K5 to replace a damaged K100, could anyone give me advice about the expected use of the supplied battery.

I am currently using a Battery Pack Grip with the K100, would I need one with the K5, when out shooting i can take up 500 photos in a day.

I have a 1:3.4 to 4.5 A Zoom lens 28-80 when attached does not appear to work in AF - works great in Manual mode.

Does this lens work in AF mode, if it does, what settings should be selected apart from AF!
