I had the stuck lens with a Sears 300MM and a metal tape measure was perfect to free it up.

Well first of all, that 2.5 135MM is worth quite a lot all by itself! Good buy! I saw one go for about 180 recently on feebay I think.
You have to set it to manual and meter the shot. (I honestly get 80% great results wide open in auto picture mode). I have the 135 2.5 SMC and a SMC 17mm fisheye and both work pretty well on auto. Of course I also have to use Av mode and adjust for certain lighting. This is my limited minimal knowledge on m42 shooting.

I have been playing with Av mode with my Super Takumar 17mm Fishy eye and I don't have any prolems in auto pic mode.

Heh first 24 hour nightmare with my sears Ricoh getting stuck on my100d. The stomach drop... ALL previous lenses blah blah... When you see that and you have a lens that works fine on your old pentax body, one does assume right?? A metal tape measure saved the day.

But to share some of my recent photos for your comments sounds like a good thing to me.
This is one of my cats with an old Sears 70-300MM that I like a lot.
These are with the K100D Super kit lens in Naples FL.
