Thank You everyone,
Between the lot of ya the difference is now clear!
@Giklab, I use Canon with M42 adapter and variety of M42 lenses
Thus rendering the 'auto' function of the teleconverter completely useless!
But it's always good to know stuff!
Thanks again everyone.

Hi All,
As the title suggests.
What is the difference between an 'auto teleconverter' as opposed to a 'teleconverter'.
I have a Soligor 'auto' and a Takumar 'non auto' (picked up in a job lot) and the scenario has never had me wondering...
Until Now!
Thanks in advance.
Peter.

A canon user,,, Hmmm!
I adore takumar lenses however and joined here to find out more.
I am intrigued as to why the Super Takumar 50mm 1.4 varies in price from £60 - £160 in the second hand marketplace.
If you know of any existing threads covering this I'd appreciate a link as I used one from a friend and am now in the market for one of my own but fear getting duped.
Until then I'll simply go searching!
Cheers
Pete.
