Thanks everyone who replied. Just thought I'd follow up with the outcome. Pulled the lens apart (its a Nikon E series 100mm f2.8) and turns out a small metal ring used to space and hold one of the glass elements was inserted backwards allowing it to move and the element was crooked. Replaced correctly and cleaned the glass and works like a treat now! winning!

Hi forum,
I am in need of expertise from the wider community. I am hoping someone cant point me in the right direction of what the issue might be.
I have a 100mm f2.8 manual focus lens that doesn't focus correctly. I'm all over little things like the focus grouping not replaced in the right position after being opened etc.
However the lens I have is currently focusing on what seems to be two points. One far off and one closer to the camera.
At infinity all objects in the distance are blurry and when adjusting the focus closer to the camera slightly the objects at infinity become sharp, however the image at a mid distance of approx 10m (30ft) are fairly soft and the image at a closer distance of approx 2-3m (6-9ft) are sharper again. I also are unable to sharpen up the mid distance image by adjusting focus although the lens functions correctly mechanically.
Because of work I will do a more comprehensive test of the focus with a tripod and take video to post before I open the lens up after the weekend but any provided would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry everyone, take two on the DA15 ltd images. Thanks for letting me know, they were still appearing to me but I must've messed something up when uploading to my attachments. =)

I am selling two of my personally highly regarded lenses as they don't see as much use as they should. Descriptions below, prices include standard parcel post within Australia, international shipping and/or extras such as tracking and signatures at buyers expense. Paypal is offered and preferred method of payment. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Happy looking! Pentax smc DA 15mm f4 ltd
Classic Pentax beauty that needs no introduction. Optically good copy with great image quality, however one day in my bag this lens managed to move into the same pocket as my FA 31 and the metal bodies rubbed paint off each other. I almost cried, the lens itself is perfect mechanically however the little metal ridges have quite noticable paint loss. I tried to get most of it into one photo (the first photo). Ask and I'll point them out for you. Comes with everything, box, case caps etc. Oh and its the orignal smc version with square blades for those delicious looking starbursts! SOLD
Samyang 35mm f1.4 UMC
Highly under rated lens that is pretty hard to beat in all aspects of image quality. amazingly sharp even at extreme wide aperture with low aberrations, even near the edges of the images. Being a K mount Samyang it has the A setting so it will function like an A lens and the focus ring is silky smooth, doesn't getting any better than this for manual focus! Is in excellent condition with all its orignal parts such as case, hood and caps. SOLD

Agreed, infact it could very well be the downfall of the brand losing the third party lenses (the new Tamron 70-200mm doesn't appear to support K mount either). You would wonder why Sigma would take away the mount offering, surely its not that much extra cost to offer a mount?
FF or something else?

Did they offer any insight into why they discontinued the mount?

The focal length of a lens is a fixed optical property, the crop factor is a short hand way of calculating the difference in the field of view. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=focal+length&biw=1920&bih=969&tbm=isch&im...ml%3B450%3B320
What does that mean? a 50mm lens will have a particular FOV on a 35mm camera (digital or film) and on a APS-C sized sensor will have a FOV that is similar to a 75mm on a 35mm camera.
If a lens is designed for use with APS-C sized sensors then you still need to apply a crop factor if you want to know what the FOV would be compared a 35mm camera, the lens just won't work on a 35mm camera

I have a favour to ask of owners of this lens and a K-01. I have this lens and recently sold my K-5 (saving for a newer DSLR) but in the meantime I thought I would try the 100-300mm on the K-01 however it focuses very slowly. when it is close to getting a fix it is not too bad but when it is going through the entire focus range it does it very very slowly. Is this normal or something funky going on here?
P.S. I have tried updating the firmwire to 1.05 and it seemed to focus fine on a test K-3 in LV.

I am seriously blown away by how good the camera looks! (and your photos too! lol) I am lusting after one now but they are fairly costly for an enthusiast camera, even if Pentax released the same thing at the same price I'd struggle to justify it unfortunately.
Please keep the images coming!

I have a K-01 and several of the lenses you have or want (10-20, da15 ltd) and on the K-01, nice small compact lenses are a treat.
