This is a great shot!
I find it a bit distracting that the letter A is way too out of focus.

I haven't been active for quite some time in the forums due to a lot of moving and travelling. Now, I would like to post my DA21 lens for sale in the market place. Is there a way to recover the Pentaxian status without paying membership?

Haha, thank you for all your replies! It's easy to remember why I was using this forum so much, always helpful people around.
@Digitalis: Ha! You do photography for a living if I remember correctly? Honestly, the sony is getting less use since I swapped my MX-1 for an LX100...
@Aslyfox, yes, that is what I would like. I had the status once due to activity as mentioned below your message. I think I've contributed in other ways if not a direct transfer (have bought through the links and else)
@pjv, thank you! that's the info I needed
@BigMackCam, yep yep, I get you - wouldn't ask em just like that.. Might be difficult to get likes with my signature though XP!

There is a maximum area you can save at a time. But the file size depends on how information-dense (did I invent a new word?) The chosen area is. I've gotten areas as big as 2Gb

@Arizona Dave, thanks for the comments!
I found your remark about the colors of the rock formations very interesting.
Congrats to the winner!

Of course it is a very personal choice.. I have done this kind of backpacking trip with my other half (And I assume you will be carrying the backpack for both of you, no?) so my recommendation is to leave everything at home and take a small camera and gorillapod at the most. Small camera like the MX-1 is great. If a viewfinder is a must then there are similar options from other brands. But the point is, in my experience, carrying all that weight will detract more than add to your experience. Of course there will be times when you will think "I wish I had my DSLR, tripod, filters and X lens for this situation) but then you can also do with what you have at the moment...
I think there is no way to really take the risk until you realize how bothering it is to carry al that weight all the time.
Also, it happened to me that some months into the trip I started leaving the DSLR in the backpack to avoid grabbing extra attention and carried it outside only when not in cities.
In the end, not only for camera stuff, my advice would be: CARRY AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE |

Just snap it into its proper position and it should be ok! (Not kidding, plastic is a great material)

Funny, I sold my k-3 some months ago and last week bought a used Sony A7 and 4 primes.. I am posting my DA15, DA21, F28, DA40XS, F50, DA70 on the marketplace this week!
I almost bought a K-S1 since they are quite small and their price is not so high now so I could justifiy keeping some of these lenses but reality is I like the brigther, smaller system I have put together. And even though I bought a k-mount adapter and got really good results i can only justify keeping the FA100/3.5 in case I need macro or a long-ish telephoto..
I am living in Germany now and cant find sources to price the lenses other than the sporadic sale on the marketplace.
Anyway, I hope I wont regret it like it happened to you....

Aquity and clarity is amazing.. But shifting the sensor (or the lens) would be so nice.. If pentax sensor shifting multiexposure allows shifting too we might be able to replicate the color depth at least... Would aquity improve too?

I`d like to share some series I´ve been working on past winter (I live in Argentina, below the equator). Specifically Tierra del Fuego (translates as Land of Fire), where Ushuaia is located, often known as "The end of the world".
I am starting this project through facebook: https://www.facebook.com/franmorarakela but of course I want to share some of the series here.
Let me translate the introduction: The moods of Cape Dominic (Los humores del Cabo Domingo)
Cape Dominic is an iconic formation in the Island. We used to play there when we were kids, go to party as teenagers and pry to the Gauchito Gil as adults!
During my stay in the winter I was quite busy, but that didn´t stop me from driving to the Cape whenever I saw the light and climate were getting interesting to see what this old southern was up to.
As always, a bit of luck with the weather but not without some setbacks. One day I almost lost a finger because of the cold and didn`t notice. Other day my car got stuck in the sand and I had to return walking /thumb a lift.
But that is all anecdotal. From my several attemps, here´s a selection of the most interesting.

Everytime I get a notification from this thread I take a look at the images again... So good. Her expressions add a lot.
On the NSFW topic, I think it`s not about whats shown or not in an objective way. But about how it`s shown. Think of yourself looking at these photos in a working enviroment that has nothing to do with art. It`s also true that nowadays media is blasting much more revealing / agressive / suggestive images but unfortunately it`s kind of socially accepted? (like readind a news paper online at the office and have a naked girl appear on an add or else).
Anyway, terrific images. I am curious, could you share some of her work as photog?

That accesory is called a flash bracket. It has a hotshoe on the top. It is helpful avoid red eyes (flash is not on the lens axis) and in some cases, not so direct light (keep some shadows). It also works as a grip of course.

Most lenses (specially older ones) won`t give much contrast when used wide open. Also, the f/1.4 image seems to be a little missfocused abd that will reduce contrast further. Increased contrast makes colors look more saturated and brighter. Not like the contrast slider on PP software but the contrast the lens can produce (related to sharpness, I think it`s called micro-contrast).

Wait a minute! "walking arround kit" sound like for casual photos, or just in case, or taking photos is not the main reason.
That´s it?! 5 lenses for walking arround?
If walking arround, I´ll take the K-5 + a prime or two maybe, depending on where and why.
If "walking arround", aka travelling:
K5 + DA10-17 + DA16-50 + FA80-320 + F28 + F50
Jatrax, how´s the overlapping between DA12-24 and DA16-50? I went with DA10-17 for this fear
