New firmware to K10D improves AF as well?

I have not noticed significant enhancements in AF, if any, in my K10D.

BUT i ahve noticed that the time the camera keeps now menu screens is quite short. Too much short, most of time, and not consistente. Sometimes, it reamins enough for you to check and change what needed but sometimes, it gets out of the screen before you have time to set anything.

Anybody more has also see that?

Did you know it should have been reported (do you really know it is in the camera), or just expected to?

Seems to, as far as Drive mode options are:

Selects from the different shooting modes:
• Single shot mode
• Continuous Hi (5.2 fps)/Continuous Low (3.3 fps)
• Self-timer: 12/2 sec
• Remote control: Immediate/3 sec delay/Continuous
• Bracketing: Immediate/Timer/Remote (Dials control no. of frames and interval size)
• Mirror Lock-Up: Immediate/Remote

What else for would you need Immediate Mirror Lock-Up ?

Did anyone notice this? (New Sigma lenses)

It could end up with an agreement:

Pentax Body: OK, let's share the task. Your time during framing, my job when shooting, so OS-ed viewfinder and SR-ed shoot.

Sigma Lens: I agree. I am going to take the same price for the user even if OS weren't there, so it could be an alternative or partially useful system.

It definitely fall in line with their new tagline - BE INTERESTING

"showing the future of Pentax"
"INTERESTING"

... it sound to me like some kind of new concept or corporate policies are to be shown.

Will Pentax redefine its SLR design or key components(I am thinking on EVIL...)?
Will Pentax actively cooperate with another camera manufacturers ?
Is there any corporate merging in sight ?

Hello.

I am new to this forum as well as to Pentax or any (D)SLR world.

I has been for some months reading several forums trying to decide my camera, and finally has chosen K10D plus some Sigma Lenses.

While waiting for my system to come, I am looking for a way to get the max focal length possible with the less expense, so I am thinking of TCs, but being new to Pentax lens system I am not sure which one will be useful with every lens...

Could anybody explain me which TCs will manage lens aperture and try to AF on modern AF lenses, like kit one or the Sigmas I have chosen to buy (17-70, 70-300 APO, 105macro)? which one does manage Aperture but not even try to AF, or which ones will force me to Manual on everything? How can I manage the leneses in those cases?

Thanks for any hand you can give me.

Eduardo
