Hello everybody!
I am relatively new to photography but it is something I am becoming more and more passionate about. I will be travelling to Vietnam for 3 months soon and I decided to buy the Pentax K-5 as my first DSLR camera.
I am looking for a practical lens that I will not have to change around, a step up from kit lens but also something that is affordable and has good "bang for its buck".
I find myself drawn to the Sigma 17-50mm or the Tamron 17-50mm but I am more attracted to the Tamron and this seems to be the choice for me. In terms of value its significantly cheaper and seems to deliver what I need.
What I need help with, if you could help me - is understanding the comparison between the non-VC and the VC version of the Tamron 17-50mm.
My understanding is that the VC can be useful but you will have to sacrifice some sharpness compared to the non VC version. Anybody got experience comparing these two? What are your thoughts on making this decision? If I have decided on this Tamron lens which is the one to go for and what are your reasons?
I would really appreciate your help on this one.
