Was the camera dropped? What caused the damage?

There is no Ricoh/Pentax marketing Dept.; just the photographers who like the cameras. Proof: have you ever seen any Pentax advertising?

There is a rumour that Richo/Pentax is considering a 24 MP camera that is not a DSLR. If the 24 MP is not a DSLR than it is a good bet it will be a high-quality travel camera. This could be a GX, which today would have to have an electronic viewfinder and LCD to compete with Sony and Panasonic.
If it is marketed as a travel camera to compete with cell phones, Sony and Panasonic than it camera should have at least two features together which are not in a Sony or Pansonic. Two features that are both not in Sony or Panasonic; Sony does not have GPS and Panasonic does not have an articulating LCD screen. Also if Ricoh/Pentax added the emergency option to use AA batteries and AW would be other selling options for a travel camera.

I intended to include: If a Sony or Nikon lens mount could be included, just think of all the other different manufacturers' lenses, such as Sigma, which would also be available to Pentax users.

This is an old news item:
Leica mount for Ricoh GXR: Ricoh GXR camera + A12 Leica M-mount unit review | Photo Rumors
There has been a rumour that Ricoh will re-brand the new GR camera to a Pentax when issued, and maybe concentrate all their cameras under one brand name. Back in 2011 Ricoh sold a mirrorless camera that had an optional EVF and was designed to handle different lens mounts.
It still seems like a good idea but came a little early for the current mirrorless craze, which may be fading back to in favour of DSLR's. Ricoh has been a little bit ahead or behind the popularity curve. If Ricoh could combine the new features of the Pentax KP into a GXR mirrorless GXR body, including K-mount, the articulating LCD screen, etc..
Ricoh would have a very popular mirrorless camera if a Sony or Nikon lens mount copy was available.

[ATTACH]384498[/ATTACH In the center of the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, there is a hill on top of which there is a large stone fort surrounded by a deep dry moat. Inside the ramparts of Halifax Citadel, there is a stone-lined pit for stairs leading to rooms inside the inner stone wall of the dry moat. In each room, there is a 12-pound cannon aimed to fire through a small portal into the dry moat if invaders happen to get over the outer wall of the moat. On either side of this room there are detention cells.....hand-held camera]

When I was a boy, my mum wouldn't buy "soft" Cape Breton coal for our home furnace. "Not good enough, not enough heat in the coal and would leave clunkers." She had to have imported good Welsh anthracite, "hard" coal which would burn clean. I had to shovel it. I grew up believing Wales was one big coal mine. These pictures of the canal Wales are great. It looks like the canal goes over a bridge and through a tunnel. I bet the Welsh coal I shoveled came from the mine to Liverpool for export to Nova Scotia.

You should have explained that the $281.94 INCLUDES $269.54 HST; wrong description of the customs charge.

I was looking at a D FA 150-450 mm and checked the delivered total cost to Nova Scotia. B&H has free shipment to Canada using a courier, but there is $281.94 custom fees charged by the courier. There is no Canadian duty charged on the value of the lens, unless there was was a recent change, which I doubt. Free Shipment, So why the $281.94 charge and how is it calculated? That's more than the Canadian 15 % sales taxes, but B & H do not say the sales tax is included. If the lens was sent by USA parcel post, the shipper may show the value on the shipping sticker and there would be no custom charges. I have never been invoiced such unnecessary custom charges by the USA/Canada postal services.
I think the courier is charging a lot to type the customs form at the same time they fill out the shipping label. I won't pay the courier $281.94 rip-off.

I just picked up this new post about a Ricoh patent in DPReview, News & Rumours forum by a Hong Kong member. There is a site connection in the post, which has to be translated into English. If you look near the bottom of site there are photos of 645 NII; is that a previous model or a new prototype?
Cool new patent from Ricoh on sensor
Just read this - Ricoh patent sensor PDAF ( but also something extra ) - The text also read it would in one swift solve the color artifact problem with needing to de-bayer as now each and every photosite had full RGB reading .. Interesting sidenote regarding Pentax being 80 Yr next year , so likely some fanfare with their FF and might be something new and fresh ..

It's a possibility that all the delays in bringing the full-frame to market has hurt the sales volume of APS-C sensor size cameras. Sails are down because potential customers are waiting to make a choice. Even if the full-frame was now on the market, isn't it close to the time when the successor to the K3/K3II model should also be soon coming to market? Oh! What a wonderful problem; which camera to next purchase. Pentax fans have never been so fortunate having such a variety of good gear to choose from.

Serenity in a photo to me, means you want to stop whatever you are doing. Imagine you are there and just want to sit in peace, look around and admire different aspects of the scene..
I can see myself doing that in this church.
