I've noticed you can select which SD card you would like to record video on whilst in video mode through the menu. I'm still not sure whether the button on the right of the menu button does anything (the one which has the blue card 1 and 2 signs next to it).

It seems like such a simple thing to do, press a button and you switch between which SD card you want to record pictures and/or video on. Either I'm completely naive to how hard it is for Pentax to accomplish such a simple sounding task or they were too lazy to include it.

I got the K3 today, so far I'm happy, the new button layouts are better and the screen is a lot better in terms of size and what you see on there. To be honest I doubt I'll even do any time lapse stuff, only done it once with my K5II whilst having that for a year or so if it's the time lapse causing the shutter flapping I may not even experience it anyway. I'm just a normal guy who wants to take good pictures of his family and of anything else really, not a professional here.
Quick question, my K3 is currently saving raws as PEF but Lightroom 4.4 won't open them, shall I switch RAW to be saved as DNG instead?

Hi all,
Received my K3 today and thought I'd try out the FLUCARD. I am using it with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Google Chrome browser..
My question is that once I exit the browser on my phone, the phone is still says 'Remote Capture Mode Activated'. How do I get back in to normal mode on the K3 without having to turn it off and back on again? Thanks.

While some of your comments are encouraging, other comments in the other thread are really scaring me. It seems it's not just a small percentage of cameras affected as some people have had 2 different bodies with the same issues on this forum alone. I should be receiving mine tomorrow, here's for hoping everything works out fine.

And now I am regretting it after coming back to this forum after a long time all I'm seeing are threads about all the problems with the K3. Arghh I wish I had read all these threads prior to ordering. It's also disappointing hearing about how Pentax/Ricoh were slow to acknowledging the issue and if it is fixable via a firmware upgrade then they're also very slow at sorting that out too.

I wanted to know how much of a difference in quality I can expect between the 18-135mm and my standard 18-55mm DAL lens and whether or not I should go ahead and purchase one? The thing that attracts me to the 18-135mm is the range and that it's weather resistant. It seems to be a very good choice as a walk around lens in most situations.
