thanks for the write up. I've been struggling with lighting inside because I don't have a studio nor do i have a lot of space in my house. I have a set of softboxes and I was practicing some boudior shots w/ my wife and the lighting was just...off. Need more trial and error. I don't have any backdrops or anything so i'm kinda getting over this mental block to break through and get great shots

I discovered this post today and couldn't wait to get home and switch my K5IIs to BBF. I'm leaving in a bit for a 6 year old's birthday party so i'm excited to see what i can get.

This was a great thread to stumble upon. I love your photos. I have been asked to shoot 2 weddings this spring. As weddings were never something I've ever set out to do I've decided to take on the task. So reading this helps and I will probably go back and re-read it a few times. I'm working hard to get my flash photography up to par before the big days. I have a AF360FGZ that i'm starting to chip away at so i'm hoping i can get photos half as good as yours.

Here's what I got. It fits firmly on my K-x w/ no problems at all. I was worried about that problem at first and when i said something to this person they flipped out because they have so many years of experience esp w/ Pentax that I was being stupid and I should listen to him..pretty much listen to him all the time and not figure it out for myself. So thats why i decided to post it here.
yes it was a concern of me because i'm ignorant w/ the inner workings of the camera and the connections so i apologize for any lack of knowledge.

Sorry for the bump in an old thread. I didn't want to start another and I can't quite seem to find the answer I want after doing some digging:
I have a set of 3rd party extension tubes for my K-x. The tubes have no electrical connections for AF. That i am fine with. I am being told rather vehemently by a fellow Pentax user of over 30 years that having the metal of the tubes touching my electrical contacts will fry my K-x because its metal on electrical.
Do i have anything to worry about? I use older Pentax-A lenses that don't have these connections but i'm being scolded about this and want to know before going further.
Thoughts? Thanks!

Greetings!
My name is Matt. I happened on to Pentax by accident last year. I was getting more and more into photography and wanted a DSLR. A friend of mine said she had a camera and she'd sell it cheap, she only used it 1 time. That camera was the K-x. Since August i've started to accumulate some lenses both new and old to help me learn more and more about photography. I'm largely self taught and since getting the camera I have found many of my friends are also very into photography. I was at a horror convention last year testing out the K-x after only having it about a week and a guy comes up and goes "hey, you shoot Pentax too!" An instant friendship was born. I don't think more than 2 days goes by that i don't have my camera in hand or i'm learning theory, techniques or trying something new. My favorite thing right now to photograph are cemeteries.
I probably have 500 questions that I need to ask and a 1000 more I don't know to ask. Thats what I love about photography, you're always learning and can teach others too.
