Sunset in Taipei

This shot was taken on the riverbank of Tamshui River(淡水河) located in Taipei City.
The area, Dadaocheng(大稻埕), was once one of the busiest ports in Taiwan with all kinds of trading goods going through.
As time passed the river traffic diminished, but we get this nice serenity at dusk.

Well... not exactly:lol:

Obviously I don't have the courage and skill to paint the lens itself.
Some ppl painted their hood to match the color of their lens or to their body(mostly K-x and K-r users).
I considered otherwise. This old lens has just rejuvenated ten years:p

#1 bought a metallic hood

#2 Bing!! shinny

#3 take a look after its mounted

#4 seems nice

the cap is plastic, so there is a difference in the texture
it was difficult to find a 49mm hood, not very popular i guess..

I've posted a thread a few days ago asking about these thing, but it seems that not many people are using these.
So... I just went ahead and bought it.

Just a disclaimer: I'm not a native English speaker, and I'm just staring to get into flash photography,
so please excuse the typos and this shallow review.

So I was looking for a remote trigger on the internet, and intimidated by the prices of PocketWizards, I found two cheap brands.
The Youngnuo RF602 and Aputure Trigmaster II (Cactus aren't available in my region)
Both from China.
The youngnuo has a drawback in that it doesn't have a power switch on the transmitter, so it might fire off when accidentally pressing the test button.

So let's go right in and see what the Aputure offers
#1

I bought these through air mail, so the batteries were taken out

#2

enclosed are 4 connectors, from left to right:
2.5mm to 3.5mm, 3.5mm to phone(sorry, i don't know the proper name for this), PC sync line, 2.5mm to 2.5mm
the former two are for connecting to studio strobes, PC sync for older cameras without hot shoe, and the last one is the shutter line for remote shutter release.

#3

remote flash triggering

#4

remote shutter release

#5

testing the remote flash triggering from 10 meters away.

Now, the company sells different models for different brands(except for Pentax)
They are different in the shutter release line AND the voltage it generates to wake up flashes.

Because the Pentax uses the same shutter release line as some Canon, you could just buy the one for Canon.
However, the "wake flash up" function would not work.

This thing works well with my K-5 and Exakta AF38DPZ (same thing as a Vivitar 383)
no misfires so far.

Found this little toad in the bushes. It was about 4 cm long, so had to stick my camera really close hand held.
I love the details of the skin.

HI! I'm a Pentax lover^^
i'm currently in Taiwan, but will move to the states soon.

I had a k-x, but got fed up with its lack of focusing light, could not do much under low light.
Just upgraded to K-5 and loving it so far ^^

Aputure Trigmaster II with K-5 and pentax-compatible flash

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has used the new Aputure Trigmaster II to trigger your flashes?
From what I've learned, the different model numbers are different in the shutter release line that comes with the box,
The hot shoe connectors, however, are all the same (since it's not wireless TTL, only single point triggering).

But.. I heard a store's seller say that they also differ in the voltage to wake up the flashes when it goes into sleep mode,
so neither the model for Canon nor Nikon could work with Pentax flashes ( the Canon one could work as a remote shutter release nonetheless)

Has anyone purchased these and that are working well? Which model did you choose, the for Canon or for Nikon.
