My K-30 had this problem intermittently at first, but then it became permanent. It still works with M lenses though, so it still has some use for me. :)

For a well lit waterfall a ND filter is almost necessary. I also use them to take long exposures to blur cloud or water movement in landscapes.
I have purchased a variety of cheap ND filters, including a variable one, and then tried a B + W filter. The old axiom of 'you get what you pay for' applied here. The B + W gave much better colors than the cheaper ones. I have bought all of my B + W filters on eBay and have purchased some for pretty reasonable prices (under $50).
