a little update..... I'm selling my K5IIS keeping my K3 and already purchased a Sony A7R at a bargain for $1000 from the photographer who was lending it to me
So once the Pentax FF comes out I'll sell the A7r at little to no loss and be a happy camper

also the grittyness of ISO3200 may be acceptable to the rock crowd but it's not acceptable in my wedding images
It may be to my brides but it isn't to me.

well.... I tried pushing the K3 to 1600 this weekend at a wedding just to see how far it could go / light
I have some very usable images when I noise correct in lightroom
so now I think I'll keep it no matter what and maybe sell the K5IIS and a few lenses and just use two different brands

it's availiable to me as a "trade for service" lender and it comes with a 70-200 stabilized and that uber sharp sony 55mm f/1.8
I second shoot for them for free and it's availiable if they don't have a wedding that hour / day

can I add another aspect? Post processing my A7R images seemed to generate better results with more low light forgivness lets say at ISO 800 if I needed to go that high
I couldn't imagine using the K3 at ISO 800 for enlarged wedding portraits without quite a bit of editing sony would be very fast and easy (workflow matters to me)
also I shot at 4pm once about 1.5 hours from sunset under a shaded veranda flipped both camera to auto and snapped a pic with sim. lenses on front. The Sony with availiable light shot at ISO 160 while the K3 was at 400. Not that it means much but it seems like the A7r was better equipped to handle the situation with nobody behind the wheel (I'm normally in manual mode or AV so I'm not sure if this is useful)

I just wish the sony had as good as color rendition of the K3.... talk about a cold son of a bi*ch the sony is...

the problem is... I used an A7r a few times and the results were so much better in low light. and manipulation was easier in PP
I miss it and feel like I need that again
I'm going to rent it a few times until Pentax hooks me up

someone convince me to stay because this $4,000 is burning a hole in my soul
I need a full frame for my wedding / portrait bookings as the little improvement over the K3 does make a difference to me
I have 2 weddings this month and two next month and I might leave this system
wtf do I do?

I took a nice photo this morning and was playing around with the in camera filters I chose a high contrast color extract filter and snapped a cool looking picture
when I upload the raw file into lightroom it removes the in camera filter and it looks like a normal shot
how the heck do I get this picture to come off my sd card like it shows on the lcd screen?
I'm lost to what to do... thinking I should have shot that photo in jpeg mode

I am a sucker for silhouettes... here is one I took of my sister and her new husband the day after her wedding taken on my Pentax K5IIS with my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 prime In Rincon Puerto Rico.
I like how there is a ton going on with the storm rolling in... the blue hour clouds and of course some great beverages
