This is a Good news Excellent service story, I had ordered a set of these Xume Filter adapters (they connect to your lens with a magnet ring no more fiddling screw threads). For the delivery I ticked the normal mail method not the fast courier method and disaster Australia Post lost them. You could track them to landing in Australia but after that they vanished. After contacting Aus Post who advised me to contact the supplier in this case XUME to obtain all shipping details, which I did. Xume answered my email overnight and advised me that they doubt American Post will be cooperative. so XUME sent me a COMPLETE REPLACEMENT FOR MY ORDER AND SENT THEM FAST COURIER.
a HUGE THANKYOU TO XUME AND YES they WORK BRILLIANTLY
an new set for my other lens sizes is on my xmas list

Pentax has the best Full Frame Camera its a 645Z

Ok the titles a little misleading as the 645Z is a Medium Format Camera and Full Frame refers to 35 mm Film equivalent, However the argument for 35 mm Film equivalency is often stated as having greater depth of field, wider angle of view, higher ISO sensitivity but the way technology has increased it could be argued that ISO is no longer a factor. This is true of the 645Z and as the sensor is larger still (35mm = 0.62 of the 645Z) Pentax actually make a superior camera to the oppositions 35 mm equivalents (barring all the functional items in memory which don't really contribute to picture quality).

Consider this.

A 55 mm Lens on35 mm equivalent camera is = to 35 mm Lens on a Pentax K3(Pentax K3 has a crop value if 1.4) With this you can see a 12 mm lens on a 35mm equivalent as apposed to a 12 mm lens on a Pentax K3 is going to have a wider angle of view (great for landscapes), 12 mm on 35 mm equivalent = 16.8 on a Pentax K3 At these wide angles you run into Lens manufacturing issues in trying to get less than 12 mm and you would need a 8.5 mm lens for a Pentax K3 to be equivalent. But what about the other end the telephoto end, its a greater advantage to have a Pentax K3 i.e. A 300 mm lens for the Pentax K3 = 420mm for a 35 mm equivalent. 420 mm Lens's are much bigger and weightier than 300 mm lenses.

So it depends on what you want to do with your photography, if you take a lot of Landscapes and predominantly take landscapes buy a 35mm equivalent or better still buy a PENTAX 645Z with a 22 mm lens its better, and still has a wide angle view of a the 22mm lens for the Pentax 645Z is = to 15 mm 35 mm equivalent. If your into sports or birds stick with your existing Pentax DSLR or get a PENTAX K3. Anything in between and your existing Pentax will still take great photo's.

I like quite a few people would not be able to tell the difference between a picture taken with a 35 mm equivalent Camera or a Pentax K3 (or similar). I recently had a Pano from an iPhone printed on a A1 sheet, the quality is excellent and if you seen the picture most would say how may shots did I stich together from my Pentax.

I can only guess BUT is this why Pentax wont make a Full Frame Camera (shudders at using that term) Pentax have a better camera at a physical size not much larger than top 35 mm equivalent in the 645Z Medium Format Camera.

Similar story to me, I was bought up on Pentax Film Cameras I had a Pentax ME for years, when I finally made the switch to Digital it seemed natural to look at Pentax. One of the things with Pentax that has always attracted me to them is the way they do things differently from others especially the big two, I remember my Pentax ME was Aperture Preferred auto where as Canon and Nikon where Speed preferred , this meant Pentax could be used with any lens that fit and you still had full automatic, take today Canon and Nikon camera shake compensation is done on the Lens, Pentax do it in camera, that's what I like about Pentax they do things different, things that seem to make more common sense, (no am not getting into a discussion on the merits of each system). I remember in my film days yes the body was important but it was all about the lens and a lot of reviews in those days (1970's) Pentax lenses where very good. Today its still the same you need good lenses, although there is an added complication with digital sensor's and how many pixels it is you still need good lenses and Pentax make good lenses. I think its what ever makes you comfortable in your photography as to which brand you buy for me its always been Pentax.

Hi Evangalina,
I like the photo the boys playing football drag the eye to them, but as Gregory said the colours seem off to me also and as you said you was trying to get the shirt colour correct. I quickly tried to do a colour correction in Photoshop and noticed then that the boys shorts were much brighter than the boys shirt so I did a quick brightness adjustment on the boys shirt only and it seemed to make it look a little better, difficult to fully determine without the original though. I personally go to a lot of trouble to ensure all my equipment especially Monitors are colour calibrated but that's probably for a different Forum, have posted your photo with the very slight changes I made hope you don't mind I know I am way of off getting the original colour back, am I on the right track?

I took this photo recently whilst in Queensland Brisbane in a small forest called Bunyaville Forest,
I Actually took it upside down as this prevented shadows from me but I knew as I took the photo it would look best turning it 180 deg.

Post Processing.
I use Photoshop Camera Raw and adjusted the white balance from the series of shots using the Spyder Cube from data color (Spyder Cube was included in one of the shots I took in the vicinity)
I then used Nik Software in Photoshop and to adjust contrast and brightness along with Structure (Structure is similar to Clarity in Camera Raw)
To bring out the colours I also added the Tonal contrast Filter from Nik software. No other effects where used.

In showing this photo to friends most don't seem to realise that its a reflection until I point it out and I find I keep looking at it there seems to be something about the Photo that keeps drawing my eyes to it.

Hope you like it.

Definatly worth buying the full package, I bought the full suite and use it all the time, it is worth going to Nik's USA site and watching some of there Webinairs, they give you a complete appreciation of what you can do with the software I highly recommend it.
