I have the same problem. Occasionally it will auto-focus, but most of the time not and the shutter wont depress at all. I've tried different shutter speeds, but not different lens yet, as it only started today. But I'm using a Pentax FA 1.4 50mm.
I'm hoping this is not going to be expensive to fix - is there anything I could try?

Just saying a quick "Hello". My name's Jak and I live in Hastings on the south-east coast of the UK. I'm a complete self taught amateur, I've had my K5 for just over a year and I sometimes use a *istDL2 which belongs to my partner. We've always had Pentax cameras starting with the manual MX and ME, but it's only in the last few years that I've become really interested in photography. :)
