Ola!
It was entirely my fault not considering that the aperture doesn't change when I use AV mode.
Here are 3 similar pictures with 40mm (kit lens), 24mm/2.8 and 50mm/1:7 (Pentax M) lenses that show much detail on aperture 8, 1/320 speed and 100 iso on a cloudy day from my office window.
Thanks for the help. I really enjoy the Pentax community and support.

Yes, I've tried 4 and 5,6. Still the same.
Will try closed apertures and re-post other images.

Ola!
I'm new to the dslr/mirrorless world. I've used a Sigma DP1 a lot and I have an old Pentax ME with 4 excellent primes. The manual lenses drove me to purchase K-01 with the 40mm lens.
I'm very happy with the camera and the default 40mm XS lens. It creates great portrait and detail pictures, even though it's not so good for street photography, cause it's not that wide. Here's a shoot of a country fair I attended this weekend: eenk.com - Bulgarian country fair
The problem occurs when trying to focus with the manual lenses. I've tested all my lenses - Pentax M 24mm/2.8, Tokina 28/2.8, Pentax M 50/1.8, Pentax M 100/2.8, Prinzflex 135/2.8 and all of them can't seem to give much detail when focused to infinity. If I shoot with my 24mm the objects in the horizon look more blurry than a photo from an iPhone 2G. Even if I focus at close range, the area in focus doesn't have the detail I expect from that sensor and lens. Focus peaking doesn't help either.
Do you think I'm not doing something right in setting up the manual lens or my camera might be buggy? I assume all my 5 lenses cannot be faulty.
Anyone experienced the same problem?
Thank you!
P.s. I'm attaching some photos with the camera focused to infinity and some close ones.
