That said it is still a sweet lens, pay $30-40 for it and you can't go to far wrong. I like mine.

Tried going through Pentax USA but they flatly refuse to send to Australia. I mean is it our two heads they don't like?
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

This is why I have changed to Eneloop batteries in my DS, less chance of them running down in storage.

I have not had a lockup since installing the new firmware.
Just thought you would all like to know.

Perhaps the FA 35mm F2 would be close enough, very good lens.

My K10D has locked up like that a couple of times, same fix, perhaps the new firmware will fix it.

Spoke briefly through the distributors forum here is Australia and the guy said they have nothing except a few keyrings but did offer to send me one! Sounds fair, I have spent about AUD$5-6,000 through them in the last few years.

The Selphys of course will only use Canon paper and cartridges but it is still good to have you monitor calibrated so what you see on your screen is what you print, on a 6x4 it is not so critical.
For my 5200 with the Ilford paper I use the Ilford profiles, particularly the matte and pearl papers will have very different absorption rates so using the right profiles is pretty important. Selphy paper is all shiny but with the Ilford pearl paper you get far better depth, really excellent for 8x10 and A4 prints even if you are framing them behind glass.
I use sRGB all the way through my process and am pretty happy with the results so far, I have resisted getting a hardware monitor calibration tool as it is a bit hard to justify the cost at this stage. My new widescreen monitor calibrates pretty well even though the 6 bit screens are not as good as the more expensive 8 bit screens I am happy with it so far. I am in the market for a new car so I have to watch the pennies for a bit.
Cheers.

When I bought a Sigma flash last year I asked the shop if they had any Pentax caps or t-shirts, they had none but gave me an Oly cap and T-shirt, being a good customer I put them in my bag and slinked out of the store (I later gave these to a kid that was using Dads E300 boy was he happy) . He had some Canon and Nikon shirts and caps in the store to give away as well but nothing Pentax at all and had never seen any.
I have done some extensive searching but have found very little in the way of Pentax gear and am very disappointed as I would really like to show the flag so to speak.
Can anyone point me to a source of any Pentax gear ?
Thanks.

No problems with either my DS or my K10D, usually use external flash though.

Sorry to sort of change the subject but what "cheap" radio trigger are you using?
Thanks.

What paper are you using? Standard inks? How have you calibrated your monitor? What camera? What post processing?
For the photos I frame I only use Ilford paper, usually one of the pearls, stunning results.
Sorry for the delay in my response but I am just back from two weeks away.

Agree with Trog, hardly a P&S. I would think that if you do not want to play around and just take photos then the D40 is probably better, if you want to experiment and get more from your photography then the K100D is probably better.
