It is very good, and beyond my imagination of lens. However you have to work to change its mount from C/Y to Pentax-K that includes cutting body etc. Or do you have an adapter from Zeiss too (the adapter must have a lens inside, so why use Zeiss lens if you use low-grade lens in your adapter ?). Other option close to your requirement is the excellent Pentax K-/M-/A- SMC 55mm/F1.8 manual from the past.

I've just decided to get Aftershot Pro because of its capability to batch processing and to use the same correction file to hundread of pictures with several clicks only. I shoot up to now mainly in jpeg, so if the setting of my K5 was incorrect, than hundreads of pictures should be corrected. I start to use raw file few months ago, and find Aftershot can handle pef format nicely. I still use Mandriva 2010 on dual core processor with 19" lcd screen and GPU accelerator that suit to Aftershot Pro.

How to remove yellow tint in the photo ?

Dear pentaxians,

I constantly have this yellow tint in human skin when taking photos people using old full-frame lens (FA 43 or F 35-70).
In the attached photo, we can see on front head above left eye of left side woman, also on the neck and upper hand of right side women.
I use GIMP software when trying to remove that yellow tint, and also to reduce "warmness" tone color. Anyone has
idea how to do that or to avoid that yellow tint ? The yellow tint doesn't occur when I use modern lens such as Tamron
17-50mm/F2.8.

Difficult to focus, may be katzeye screen, but the color rendering and OOF transition is incredible. I'm lucky to have one of this lens.
Mine is SMC Pentax version, the photo was made with +0.7EV, 1/80th second and F1.8 aperture.

FA31mm F1.8. or Siggy 30mm F1.4

Thank you all for your advices. I see from photos in Flickr that 21mm/F3.2 has
more barrel distortion than 15mm/F4 or 10-20mm/F4. Is it because of ED element
in the last lenses ? It is important since I will use the lens for architecture photography.
I don't want the edge of building look like a curve.

Purwoadi

@normhead, @Docrwm: When I examine my photos, you're right, most of them
are less than 30mm with F5.6 or greater. I have already Tamron 17-50mm/F2.8.
With this one, I'd most of time ISO 1600 to 6400 at 1/6 - 1/15th second speed.
I saw photos taken with FA24mm F2, they are wonderfull. Unfortunately the
production of the lens is stopped already. I will looking for 21mm F3.2, if it is
sharp wide-open with longthrow DOF.

@Rondec,@twitch: Is it really FA31 sharper across the frame than Shaggy 30mm F1.4? The problem is, I can't
return the item I buy. There is no such policy in our country. So, I have to decide, go buy and pray
that my decision is right. Or re-sale the new lens as second in perfect condition.

I need a fast normal lens which is sharp wide-open across the frame. The lens will serve me for architectural photography and interior photography.
I have also in mind FA43 for my K-5, what do you think?

I bet for SMC Pentax-F 35-70mm/F3.5. Fastest AF and covers 60-70mm as required.

I have this lens for several months and love it for the value of money it gives. At F2.8 I can isolate the subject quite well with beautiful bokeh and at F5.6 it gives a very sharp images. One problem is its "noisy" autofocus, but it still ok for most of landscape pictures I made. For candid photography, I think for other lens, may be FA 77mm/F1.8 or
SMC-P F 35-70mm/F3.5. Regards, Michael

Have a second hand 35-70 from ebay since several months. Great IQ but poor build.
I like very much the photos of people from ihasa, they are stunning. Thanks for sharing
the pictures.

How good is the K-5?

I just bought K5 3 weeks ago together with Tamron 17-50mm/F2.8 after months of spec camera & its lenses comparaisons. I prefer K5 for its high ISO and near-100% viewfinder, since I like a lot of architectural photos. Concerning decent lenses, they are quite same price (I mean out of my reach). During these 3 weeks, I learn to adjust White Balance, EV, Forward/Back Focus compensation. From hundreads photos I took already, few only has color I used to. (I used to Kodak Ektachrome and CZ T* Planar 50mm/F1.8). Now I start completing my gears with lenses SMC Pentax-F 28/F2.8, SMC Pentax K 55mm/F1.8 for portrait and events, also lens SMC Pentax-F 35-70mm/F3.5-5.6 for group photos. Also I got M42 adapter. Fortunately, K5 still guards its compatibility with old lenses (that can be found from ebay, or old gear dealer around).
