I've often found that performing a system reset resolves inconsistent operation of sophisticated electronic devices, including my KP. Usually it occurs to me after I've spent too much time testing, analyzing, investigating, etc. Perhaps try resetting everything to factory default settings. It's at Set-up Menu 3. After reset, I'd also remove the battery for a couple minutes for good measure.

HI
Looking at the area beyond the mount there is obvious damage. I have an S2 and the area beyond the mount shows no wear on mine I have swapped the lens many times. I had a Vivitar K mount lens that was not correctly built to K mount standards so would not mount correctly. If I had tried to force the issue it would have caused damage around the mirror and sensor.

You might try cleaning the contacts on the camera. I dampen a piece of paper towel with isopropyl alcohol and firmly rub the contacts.

It seems to me that some lens was once forced onto this K-S2 which shouldn't have been mounted:
Two signs for that:
1. inner marks (a clear circle)
2. marks on the k-mount: Signs of getting some lens off which was stuck
I took your photo to show what I mean

I'm happy to announce that one of our forum members will soon be receiving a shiny new Pentax K-1 in the mail!
But first, I'd like to thank everyone who participated in the June giveaway. Our members collectively made over 43,000 posts in June, making this the busiest month on the forum in many years. I hope everyone had a fun time and enjoyed the increased community engagement.

It most certainly is NOT rigged.
It's merely a case of a large number of members watching the clock and then trying to post near enough simultaneously. We've had more users logged on today at raffle time than we've had for years...

Do not give a free K-1 to someone who already owns one or three. Does not make any sense. This should be chance for those who cannot afford one easily.
