Update:
Just so you guy's know, you're help and advice was not in vain; I am now running the upgraded software and I've had a real result with the old lenses from my Ricoh days........they all work and not a pin in sight!
So, many thanks again, for all your help,
Regards, Dave.

Thanks for that, I guess the focal length capability will be useful if and when I use the older lenses? In which case I guess it won't hurt;
Thanks again for all your help!
Cheers, Dave.

Gentlemen, thank you very much; I now feel confident enough to use the lenses; As I said, I only just upgraded to my K100d DSLR, so I am cramming for as much info' as I can get, whilst "snapping away" like a good 'un!!
So, until the next time.................many thanks to you both!!
PS: I forgot; apart from the SDHC recognition, what else does the firware upgrade provide? Is it worth the time and effort (not that it's that much, but I just wondered, as I'm happily using it as it is!)

Hello all, I have just bought a K100D outfit, I love it already!! I have a couple of questions for you;
1) Can I still get the Firmware upgrade (I currently have v1.00); and, apart from the sdhc recognition, what do I get "for my money"?
2) I've had a Ricoh film camera for years, and have a good set of K mount lenses (Ricoh/Carl Zeiss/Prinz etc...),. which I'd really like to use. However, I believe that there is a risk of "lens lock on" with some older lenses, is there an obvious way that I can see if a particular lens is going to do that? As I also understand that removal of the lens from the body can be extremely expensive............which I would rather avoid!
Any help/advice will be gratefully received, thank you.
Dave.
