Hi Light-in-Focus,

I have just received the AB-82 focusing screen. It works great with my old 165mm f/4 leaf-shutter lens as well as the new autofocus FA lenses. Thanks again :)

Hi Light-in-Focus,

Good idea! I think the AB-82 with the Split-Screen is still better for manual focusing. I will keep looking around for one. Doesn't have to be new. Yes, I am fluent in Vietnamese. Perhaps they will give me a 99% discount haha

Thanks again,
Ed

Hi Light-in-Focus,

Thanks for the info. Appreciate it! Unfortunately, Japan Exposures said that the AB-82 is no longer available. Can I use the AA-82 instead and still have autofocus with the FA lenses?

I have tried the 67 400mm f/4 and 165mm f/4 Leaf Shutter lenses on the 645D. They both work fine. However, you have to ensure that you nail the focus when shooting with a long focal length and a large aperture. There is no split-prism focusing screen for the 645D. The focus-confirmation light of the 645D is not very accurate since you can turn the focusing ring left and right and the light is still on. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the kind words, Thomas. Yes, I always edit beauty heashots. My typical workflow includes, but not limited to, the following: skin smoothing, removing stray hairs, adding more contrast and brightness to the eyes, and removing eye veins. It can be very time-consuming if you have to fix eyebrows and eyelashes. Hope this helps.

I agree with Dave. It would also be nice to have a portrait leaf-shutter lens so I could shoot fill flash on-location at 1/500s with a larger aperture. The 645D's flash sync is only 1/125s with the focal-plane shutter. I currently use a 645 75mm f/2.8 leaf-shutter lens and a 67 165mm f/4 leaf-shutter lens with an adapter for fashion shoots outdoors.

Thanks, larkis. I used a 150mm f/2.8 lens for these shots. I would recommend this lens for tight headshots. The 90 is more of a standard lens in 645 format. Hope this helps.
