I assume this means that they need to get several new lenses out there at the same time being that all of the DA and DA* lenses will not work on a full frame camera. They still have several older lenses that they could reproduce, but if they are going to start selling full frame, they are going to have to make some new FF lenses to go with it.

I like how they subtly say that Pentax told them that FF is definitely coming in the next year or so. Ummmm, announcement please... When did they tell you this? And what else did they say? Be specific! Thats HUGE news. Don't be so subtle please haha!

I currently own 2 K5s. Looking at the images in the K5ii, I would see no need in a $400 upgrade, but the K5iis is very impressive to me. That increase in image quality, plus the much improved autofocus is a very tempting $500 upgrade. One at a time though. I probably won't need to upgrade both camera bodies. I'm still extremely happy with the K5.

I'm a semi-professional photographer (slightly under half of my yearly income is from photography). I am moving further and further into the world of Sports photography. As such, I fear I will have to jump ship to Canon or Nikon for two reasons.
1) I will need full-frame. I am already bumping up against the limitations on my K5. Its an incredible camera, but not being FF kills me in the low light situations I shoot in.
2) I need 300 mm and 400mm f/2.8, not f/4. Its just not fast enough glass for the kind of sports photography I shoot. These lenses are out there, but they are extremely difficult to find since Pentax no longer makes them. I hope they fix this problem, because I love Pentax and would really hate to switch.
Please Pentax. Don't make me leave you.

Hey all. I'm new to the forum. I've been shooting Pentax for just about 2 years. I'm hooked! I've got a K1000, K20D and a K5. I also have the DA* 16-50mm 2.8, DA* 50-135mm 2.8, 35mm 2.4, 50mm 1.8 a Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 a Tamron 90mm 2.8 macro, and a Opteca 6.5mm fisheye. I'll hopefully post some reviews for some of my bodies and lenses here and do some comparing. I shoot weddings, families, and sports. Looking forward to the conversation.
