I don't normally shoot tethered but will need to for an event. It's for charity, and in order to increase purchase of the photos (posed, theme-y kind of shot) that seems to be the easiest way to go- to let the guests pick one out of a couple/few right away.
I have remote assistant loaded up on a retired iMac, and it works just fine... but.
What's the simplest/most inexpensive way to get those preview images larger? I don't mind using RA, but the multi-image preview (buffer select) is tiny.
Is there a workaround or quick fix?
Thanks!

I'm a total lurker around here, but I HAD to respond to this. YOU'RE the one that took this deal! Man. I was a few hours too late. I shot an email to the seller and then went to the park with the kids. After we got home, I got an email that the gear was still available- I called, and it was sold.
Man, was I sad.
Glad to see it got a good home, though, even if it wasn't mine.

Ha.
Speaking of cyclists... I like it.
This is all certainly better information than I was anticipating. I just need to break out the gear and toy with it, it looks like. Thanks for the info!

I'm interested in balancing ambient in bright sunlight-type situations. I have the cheap-o radio triggers for playing around and random bits and pieces of lighting stuff that I've collected over the years. I wanted to try my hand at some strobist-style outdoor stuff, and figured I had all the ingredients, and then found that I couldn't really do what I wanted.
Stop action is helpful with toddlers, but I'm not shooting sprints or bicycle races or anything.
I appreciate the assistance!

Just to clarify (because I've been going around and around trying to figure it out)-
Is there ANY way at all to HSS my K10 wirelessly without either the 360 or 540 mounted on-camera?
I'm not looking for ttl, I just want a faster shutter.
Thanks.

Thank you both!
If my attempt at a portrait crop line (with 8x10 vertical and 5x7 horizontal) on a cheap focusing screen works, I'll post my success. If it doesn't work out, I'll be out thirty bucks and I'll probably not say anything else about it :)

Hopefully an easy question:
How much of the focus screen is visible through the finder on a K10? I'm trying to figure out the actual measurement in mm.
Thank you!

The 'portrait' cropping screen that I'm familiar with has the 5x7 crop horizontally and 8x10 vertically. Basically, if you keep within the rectangle, you're good for both.
Sounds like the answer is no, anyhow. Oh, well.
I appreciate the help.

I'm going to be getting a focusing screen for my K10- I shoot with my manual lenses most often, and focus is always an issue for me.
What I'd ideally like, though, is a screen with portrait crop lines. Is there ANY screen available with the crop lines besides Katzeye? If not, I'm going to be getting a split screen from fleabay, without the lines.
Thought it was worth a shot, anyway. Thank you!
