IMO designing a FF is not a waste of money, as most of us here were started from shooting films, that's what FF is all about, we are already used to it. Then APSC came, and we have to adjust our mind for the crop factor. Electronics components are getting smaller and smaller except the sensor and the prism, so that someday it will be possible to produce a small enough digital FF, like the MX is the smallest SLR Pentax is proud of, so that going for a small FF DSLR is the ultimate goal.

What blocks UV light on the glass ?

We used UV filter to block the UV light from entering the lens, but what in the glasses actually do the job, the dye ?
As far as I know, ordinary windows glass is not pure silicon, it has some metal compound in it such as Iron, and I can see a very light green tint on my window glasses, when look from the side of the glasses (no frame) I actually see green, other windows may look different. If you are in the IT/electronic field you will know about the EPROM, an UV Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory chip used in the old days, that requires a special UV light to erase the memory to reuse, and we can do that under sunlight too, but will take much longer time. That won't work behind windows, the same we can not get tanned behind windows, cause the windows blocked the UV, but was the Iron or other metallic compound blocked the UV ? a photographic prefect lens used so many different made of glasses with coating on it, does it block UV as well ?

How to disable high volume warning on Android 13 ?

Right on ! there must be something new something different on every new release, so called 'innovative' no matter it is useful or not. Say for example MS win keeps changing on every release, but under heavy windows dressing still hiding some unresolved problems, I got sick and tired of it !

What is the best Bluetooth earbuds you have use ?

Same here, I bought too many of cheapos over the years, should have saved the money for a good one. Btw regarding the lip-sync., there may be something you can do on the phone, depends on the Android version, there are few codec options and sampling rate...etc. on the developer option (need to enable first) you can change might help, I'm just guessing.

I used tons of such cheap buds, my problem is they don't do multipoint good like the Jabra, so that if I can't find an alternative I will try find the old ROX

---------- Post added 12-14-23 at 11:59 PM ----------

I use my phone for call and Spotify, and the tablet for video, the Jabra can switch between them seamlessly, where cheaper buds can't, must restart the buds when come back in range, during such time the annoying out of range announcement non stop. Also when pairing, one device must not turn on, must pair one by one then turn on both to work.

Photographer's Multi Tool

My one was purchased over 10yrs. ago and still rocks today, I got an even older Leatherman forgot what model gave to a friend. I used a number of multitools over the years and I got a Gerber 'Flick of the wrist' one, it's fancy and fun to use at first, but not as strong build as Leatherman. When purchasing a mulltitools I will get one with scissor, no matter how small it is, even it is a small nail cutter the scissor is a must have to me. On the other hand I don't like Swiss Army Tools, it is very weird to me, I can't imagine real army will use it !

Oh that's great, but looks like no volume control on the buds, like many other buds that's the trend of design but I feel inconvenient in actual use, and some times the phone is not next to me.

I like wired buds, coz they are always ready in case of incoming call, I don't need to dig them out from the case and oops drop one into the street drain
I have couple older Jabra wired buds but not all fit well in my ears, I also used other cheaper wired buds, they have the same problem that the controller is on one side, too heavy and caused the bud to fall off after some use, Jabra one is better with smaller control. My main concern is the multipoint connectivity, cheaper buds can not pair to new device before the 1st one turned off, and will not resume connection when get out of range and return, must restart the buds to reconnect, but for all reviews I've read hardly anyone mention about that, most only concern the sound and call quality.

What is the most annoying thing you have with cell phone ?

Right, low tech still has its place but is hard to maintain, like 'old timers' Audiophile enjoys vinyl more than CD. Just a few words without getting too off-topic and bored the rest. I did some 6M DX before, it's challenging but fun, due to the propagation we can barely finish exchanging names and equipment details before the band drops. Also did some satellites with fixed antenna no joy at all. Never did real CW as I was too slow to pick up, yes with straight key no paddle, but interested to receive and decode with SDR.

I forgot to mention my major annoyance with cell phone, the iPhone. I am not iPhone user only have played with it few times also the iPad they are similar. The thing I hated most is the unstoppable transition effect, the screen turns and zooming in and out that give me headache. So that when I receive a new Android phone I will first turn off all animations, those things not only slow down the phone but also eating up the battery especially with OLED display, where each and every dots is a light that need power.

To me iPhone and Android are different things for different types of users, iPhone is for real user that use the phone to make call, perform daily tasks and take photo listen to music...etc., where Android is for those have good knowledge with computer to do some hacking and play tricks with. Due to the design iPhone is more secure and reliable rarely crashes, and the apps are checked before release for download, where on the Android many apps are duplicates with different name, and not as good written as the iPhone ones. Say for example those apps for audio and music are excellent which "media" is the strong point of IOS, and I will do some networking stuffs with Android I am in IT field.

Very true, nowadays people rely so heavily on smartphones, and many things have gone online. Cell phones are not like before a piece of equipment for voice communications but for social media and photos and music, Facebook, Instagram...etc. have become the standard way of communication that makes me feel uncomfortable. Similarly, most digital shooters relied heavily on photoshops such things, they no longer take but make photos, I don't feel good either !

Rescue the backup (C-MOS) battery of your Pentax DSLR if depleted

The CMOS battery used to keep time and setting does not have high consumption to cause the main battery to runs down quicker by charging it, and I doubt the one used on the camera is rechargeable. It is just like PC CMOS battery can keep running at least for a year, but it could be the CMOS battery short-circuit or damage to cause the main battery losing charge quick.

My one is definitely thinner than a 'good' Cat6 one, I don't know the inside of it, but I always tell people not to bend it sharp to break the fiber.
