I do not see what the big deal is. Pentax is introducing video features into its flagship DSLR. This is a good thing, and in no way takes away from its ability to take photographs.
Firstly, those of you who are saying these video features are 'the worst move Pentax have made'- You sound just like those who doubted the 5D Mark II when it was announced that it had video capability [Which is one of, if not the most successful semi-pro DSLR to have ever existed and reshaped the DSLR market: How many DSLR cameras had video features before the 5D? 1 [and it was garbage]. And after? Essentially: all of them.]
What Pentax is doing is EXACTLY what Pentax should be doing. Other than producing a Full-Frame, it is creating an APS-C Flagship that will dominate the entire market spectrum. Adding professional video features to the K-3 brings it up to industry standard, and [depending on how they implement it] makes the model competitive in the 2013 market.
You want the K-3 to be the best APS-C camera to date? That simply cannot be done without meeting the market demand: which includes video.

1. You look through a glass viewfinder, like on Granddad's camera or whatever. 2. You have to zoom by actually turning the zoom ring, I mean HELLO? 1980 calling. So unbelievable, the whole interface is, like, really dated.

This marketing action sounds at least like a thorough and long-term commitment to K-mount.
Which in it-self is good news.;)

The referred post doesn't insult anyone nor does it set out to offend anyone. Even if not in the P&R forum, it is an account of the durability of the camera. What you have done is complain about the political disagreement you have with the war depicted by the post, which is a personal viewpoint. If you dislike it, you can choose not to read or respond to it in future.
Back to topic please.

Did you have a look at various GIMP plugins? like Purple Fringe or fix-ca. I have them both installed on GIMP 2.8 but i have no clue whether they satisfy your expectations. Just try them out.
