I would agree except that none of the other stencilling has shown wear, including the 'Ricoh' name under the screen.
This bothers me because it will significantly reduce the resale value of the body when it's time to upgrade.

The text on both the info and menu buttons is rubbing off on mine. I also am reluctant to request warranty repair for the same reasons as Tom.
I have a K5 that I've carried/stored in the same way for a lot longer and it's not showing any text degradation on those buttons.

Me either, mine is only 6 months old and getting shipped to CRIS for warranty repair later today. One of my concerns is the weather seals will be compromised when I get it back. I love my camera and hate sending it away. :(

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but my K5 just presented this problem. I plan to send it to CRIS but wanted to know if anyone knows what causes it and/or experiences with warranty repair of this issue.

Thank you audiobomber, that's an awesome demonstration! Your test shots have been very helpful, I think I'll hold off on the Raynox for now.

luftfluss: That's a neat picture!
audiobomber: That would be great if you have time to check it out.
I was looking at the 150 for my purposes. I'm a little concerned about the vignetting, but as an inexpensive macro alternative I wouldn't expect it to perform as well as the real thing.
Thanks for the replies.

I hadn't thought of putting close up filters on the Raynox, that's a cool idea.

Has anyone tried pairing these together? I'm interested in opinions and/or experiences. I recently purchased the 18-135 and am waiting on the K5 I ordered. I've been using a K10D with the standard 18-55 lens and have been fairly pleased with the macro shots it's given me. When I ordered the 18-135 I didn't think to check if it had a macro function and I'm trying to decide whether or not to get a DCR-150 for it.
