Green Dots?

hmmm. I have an extended warranty, so I think I'll send it in for service.

I don't typically use RAW format.

Do these hot spots get worse over time, or does it tend to level out?

Thanks all.

I have a K100D Super with the 18-55mm kit lens. I've taken over 6000 pictures since getting the camera in January 2008, and love the camera.

When I zoom in on my pictures, I can see green dots (pixels?) I compared the position of the dots from some pictures and it seems consistent.

It's most noticeable on dark images.

any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks.

A question on the "Crop Factor" with a twist.

My understanding is that using a 100mm lens on a DSLR (K100D, in my case) results in the the equivalent of using a 150mm on a 35mm film camera.

If I put a 2x teleconverter in the mix, would the teleconverter also be multiplied by 1.5 for an equivalent of a 3x teleconverter?

So would my 100mm lens with the 2x teleconverter return the equivalent of 450mm (150 crop factor of the 100mm x 3 crop factor of the 2x teleconverter)?

Or would it be 300mm ((100mm x 2x teleconverter) x 1.5 crop factor).

Curious how that all works together.

Thanks.

K100D Super w/ Manual Teleconverter

I got a fabulous deal on a Vivitar MC Teleconverter 2X-22 for $2.50 at Goodwill.

Now the question is how to use it. I have the K100D Super with the 18-55 kit lens. The teleconverter is just a PK, so I know my automatic lens won't work with it. I have some older PK-A manual focus lenses from my ME Super. It seems the light meter can't figure out how to use it, so I've tried some guesstimating of exposure in manual mode (lots of years of experience with the K1000 & C3), with poor results.

Any suggestions or instructions? Or am I limited to using it with my film SLR?

Thanks

I received my new K100D Super in January and five days later had the "opportunity" for a trip to Atlanta for business and managed to find time to see the General, made famous in the "Great Locomotive Chase", in a somewhat poorly lit indoor museum. I'm still learning to play with the white balance, 18-55 kit lens and my old 50mm f1.7.

Problem: K10D won't read images.

I received my K100D Super three weeks ago and LOVE it.

I have been using it at 4MP with Best (***) quality most of the time, occasionally 6MP & RAW. I took some pictures at 1.5M and Good (*) quality. I could view them on the camera and downloaded them to my PC. Now, after returning to the 4MP *** setting, when I try to view them on the camera I receive the "Camera cannot display this image" message. I can still view the image on the camera when connected to the PC. I also downloaded the images to a different computer and can see them on the PC

I have a 2GB Toshiba SD card (purchased at Sam's Club, not eBay) which was formatted in the camera and has never been removed. I haven't had any problems with the other 400+ pictures I've taken, though they were not at that low resolution & quality.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I'm a new member and thanks for the great information.

I'm strongly looking at the K100D Super/18-55mm lens kit as an upgrade from my beloved ME Super & K1000SE with 28-70, 70-210 & 50mm F1.7 lenses, autowinder, and Vivitar 283 flash (have to check the voltage on that yet) and PHD 3MP digital.

I normally shoot ISO 200 film but occasionally shoot wedding photos and use ISO 100 film. My concern with the K100D Super is that it only goes to a 200 setting and has 6MP. Some say that that won't cut it for 11x14 enlargements while others say that isn't an issue with good internal camera software. What's the experience of others enlarging shots at ISO200 from the K100D Super?

Are there other things I'd likely miss going form my old Pentaxes to the K100D Super?

Unfortunately, the budget can't handle the K10D.

Your thoughts and recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks
